Wizz Air expands in Serbia, establishes a new base in Russia

Wizz Air has announced an expansion of its Serbian operations, adding one new Airbus A321 aircraft to the Belgrade base as well as converting the other two based aircraft to Airbus A321 from August 2020. The new aircraft will join the fleet in July 2020, which will grow the local Belgrade fleet to three aircraft.

Since that moment Wizz Air has constantly expanded its operations, bringing opportunities through affordable travel and has welcomed over 5 million passengers in Serbia. With the latest expansion of its Serbian fleet, in 2020 Wizz Air will have 3 based aircraft in Serbia, employing more than 70 customer-oriented crew, who deliver excellent service on each WIZZ flight. Wizz Air now offers 28 routes to 16 countries from 2 Serbian airports: 23 routes from Belgrade and 5 routes from Niลก. Wizz Air announces proposed establishment of Wizz Air Abu Dhabi

Wizz Air Holdings Plc hasย announced today that it has reached agreement in principle for the establishment of Wizz Air Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates in partnership with Abu Dhabi Development Holding Company PJSC. The new airline will be Wizz Air’s first airline established outside of Europe.ย ย

It is intended that Wizz Air Abu Dhabi will be formed via a joint venture, and operations are expected to launch in the second half of 2020. The airline will focus on establishing routes to markets in which Wizz Air has existing, high growth operations, namely Central and Eastern and Western Europe, as well as the Indian subcontinent, Middle East and Africa over the long run. Wizz Air believes that the establishment of a truly ultra-low cost airline in Abu Dhabi can contribute to the continued growth of Abu Dhabi as a world-class cultural and tourist destination. ADDH’s deep rooted knowledge of the local market, support and navigation in a new market for WIZZ is invaluable and will boost the successful development of the new airline.
