American Airlines and American Eagle launch five new routes from New York JFK

American Airlines (Dallas/Fort Worth) and American Eagle Airlines (Dallas/Fort Worth) further expand their presence in New York today (November 18) by launching daily nonstop service between New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and five new destinations.

As previously announced, American begins daily service today from JFK to Rio de Janeiro (GIG), using 219-seat Boeing 767-300s configured with 28 Business Class and 191 Economy Class seats. In addition, American begins two daily flights from JFK to Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood (FLL), both using a 140-seat McDonnell Douglas DC-9-80 (MD-80).

American Eagle Airlines also launched daily nonstop service between JFK and three U.S. destinations – Norfolk International Airport (ORF), Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG), and Indianapolis International Airport (IND) – using 50-seat Embraer ERJ 145 jets.
