Iberia is planning to cancel 118 flights on December 29 due to the strike by the pilots

Iberia (Madrid) has already cancelled 118 pilots on December 29 due to an upcoming strike by its pilots.

The company issued this statement:

“Because of the strike called by the SEPLA pilots union, Iberia has been obliged to cancel 118 flights on December 29, 36% of the total flights initially programmed, that are not covered by the minimum services decreed by the Spanish Government. In particular, the airline will cancel 10% of its long haul flights, 38% of its short and medium haul operations, as well as 43% of it domestic flights.

This strike does not affect flights operated by Air Nostrum (IB8XXX), Vueling (IB5XXX) or code share flights operated by other airlines (IB7XXX and IB4XXX), nor connections with the Canary and Balearic Islands, which are all protected by the minimum services decree.”
