Iberia’s ground personnel join the pilots in regular strikes to block Iberia Express

Iberia (Madrid) is facing a more unified union front in their attempt to blok the launch of Iberia Express. Today all of the unions at Iberia have called for industrial action starting on February 3. This means IB will be facing a strike every Monday and Friday by ground personnel and the pilots. The cabin crews will vote on joining the pilot’s strike at a meeting on January 20.

Ground staff are now demanding job guarantees through 2015, plus a freeze on the launching of lower-wage Iberia Express, together with the dismantling of Iberia by IAG.
