20 Airbus A380s to be visually inspected for wing cracks

European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has ordered 20 older Airbus A380s to undergo visual inspections for cracks in their wings. This represents a third of the current operational fleet.

A few A380s, which have flown more than 1,800 flights, will need the visual inspections within four days according to this report by the BBC.

    I think they should go directly to fluorescent penetrant, if not eddy current, to inspect for these cracks.
