Silver Airways (Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood and Gainesville) is finding new opportunities in the feeder market. As other carriers stop flying under-served markets with their SAAB 340Bs, Silver Airways is bidding on the EAS routes and winning. The growing regional carrier will open a new Southern market feeding the Atlanta hub. Silver Airways, which also operates regional hubs at Cleveland, Ohio and Billings, Montana, will operate Essential Air Service (EAS) flights from Muscle Shoals, Alabama, the Mississippi communities of Greenville, Tupelo and Laurel/Hattiesburg, as well as Lewisburg, West Virginia. The new EAS flights will feed the Atlanta hub replacing departing Delta Connection carriers.
