VivaAerobus gets ready to take delivery of its first Airbus A320

VivaAerobus (vivaaerobus.com) (Monterrey) will soon become a new Airbus A320 operator, gradually replacing its Boeing 737-300s with newer Airbus A320s. The first, formerย Livingston A320-232 EI-ERH (msn 2157), has arrived back in Dublin following its repainting in Montpellier, France.

VivaAerobus jumps to Airbus with a large order

VivaAerobus.com A320-200 (06)(Flt)(Airbus)(LRW)

VivaAerobus Group (VivaAerobus.com) (Monterrey) has signed a purchase agreement for 52 Airbus A320 Family aircraft (40 A320neo and 12 A320ceo aircraft), representing the biggest Airbus aircraft order by a single airline in Latin American history. VivaAerobus, a Mexican low-cost carrier, will announce the engine selection at a later date.

VivaAerobus, part-owned by IAMSA, one of Mexicoโ€™s largest transportation companies, and Irelandia Aviation, a global low-cost-carrier airline developer, will replace its entire fleet of Boeing 737-300s to become an all-Airbus carrier by 2016. VivaAerobus has been a pioneer in Mexicoโ€™sย โ€™Bus to Airโ€™ย model, which is an initiative to convert bus passengers to air travelers.

Boeing to lose another customer next week: VivaAerobus

VivaAerobus (vivaaerobus.com) (Monterrey) will reportedly jump off the Boeing ship next week and order up to 40 Airbus A320 family aircraft according to this report by Reuters. The new aircraft will replace the aging Boeing 737-300 fleet. This will be the latest defection to Airbus from Boeing in the latest hard fought battle.

VivaAerobus (vivaaerobus.com) (Monterrey) will add three new routes on March 12: Cancun-Tuxtla Gutierrez, Cancun-Villahermosa and Mexico City-Reynosa per Airline Route.

VivaAerobus announces two new routes to Florida

VivaAerobus (vivaaerobus.com) (Monterrey) is launching two new routes this month to both Miami and Orlando from Monterrey. The company now operates 17 Boeing 737-300s.

VivaAerobus arrives in Chicago

VivaAerobus (vivaaerobus.com) (Monterrey) arrived yesterday (October 14) in Chicago (Midway). The new VivaAerobus international route will initially fly twice a week, and will later be extended to three times a week during the high seasons.

VivaAerobus is coming to Miami and Orlando

VivaAerobus (vivaaerobus.com) (Monterrey) has announced it will further extend their presence into the US market, with new flights to the cities of Miami and Orlando to and from Monterrey, Mexico. Twice-weekly service to Miami commences on November 11. Weekly service to orlando starts on November 19. Both routes will be operated with Boeing 737-300s.

VivaAerobus ends service to Austin

VivaAerobus (VivaAerobus.com) (Monterrey) ended all service to Austin on May 31. The low-fare airline was operating between AUS and both Cancun and Puerto Vallarta from the South Terminal which will now close. The carrier blamed a drop in passenger demand due to the Swine Flu outbreak in Mexico. However the airline is still looking at adding service to Las Vegas.
