BA CityFlyer to fly to Ibiza and Palma year round

BA CityFlyerย (British Airways) (London-City) is bringing a bit of winter sunshine to London City Airport by extending its popular Palma de Mallorca and Ibiza flights to a year-round service.

At present the two Balearic Island destinations are summer-only but from October 2012 they will continue through the winter with two flights a week on Thursdays and Sundays.

British Airways increases the number of flights from London’s City Airport

British Airways (London) meanwhileย is expanding its aircraft fleet and route network at London City Airport where it is now officially the largest operator with the highest number of routes and customers.

Subsidiary BA CityFlyer will take delivery of another Embraer 190 in the late summer, bringing the total fleet size to 14 aircraft.

It will be used for new year-round flights to Venice in September and to increase frequency to the key business destinations of Frankfurt from March and Glasgow from September.

The news comes as BA CityFlyer is about to start brand new services from the Docklands airport to Mahon in Menorca, Quimper in Britanny and Angers in the Loire Valley in France from May.

A total of 22 destinations in the UK, Europe and the USA will be served by British Airways and BA CityFlyer from London City Airport.

British Airways order one more Embraer 190 for BA CityFlyer

British Airways (London) and Embraer have signed a contract for the sale of one more 98-seat Embraer 190 (ERJ 190) jet. The aircraft will be operated by BA CityFlyer (London City), British Airwaysโ€™ wholly owned regional subsidiary. When delivered during the third quarter of 2012, it will bolster the airlineโ€™s total fleet size to 14 E-Jets.

British Airways launches new flights to Faro and Malaga direct from London City

British Airways (London) has announced the launch of two new routes to Faro and Malaga and added more frequency to the destinations of Nice, Palma de Mallorca and Ibiza. This means that British Airways now offers 39 leisure flights per week for this summer from London City Airport to top sun destinations at the height of the season.

The four times a week flights to Faro and the three times a week flights to Malaga are now both in operation and will operate year round.

The existing Nice service has been increased to double daily flights from May until September, and from July to September both Palma and Ibiza flights will be increased from four to ten a week.

Flights are operated by the wholly owned British Airways’ subsidiary BA CityFlyer on the new Embraer ERJ 170 and ERJ 190 aircraft.

British Airways doubles capacity on Its London City-Palma route

British Airways (London) has increased capacity on its London City-Palma de Mallorca service by 50 per cent to meet the demand for seats this summer.

With additional frequency and larger aircraft the airline will be providing over 25,000 seats to the Spanish holiday island direct from the Docklands.

Due to the high early season demand, the three-times-a-week flights will increase to six-days-a-week, excluding Saturdays, in July and August. The Friday and Sunday flights to Palma de Mallorca and Ibiza, on new BA CityFlyer Embraer ERJ 190 aircraft, will continue until October 31.

British Airways through BA CityFlyer now operates 39 leisure flights from London City Airport. The airline has also added more frequency to popular destinations of Nice and Ibiza.

British Airways will also launch new routes to Faro and Malaga in June, all from London City. The four times-a-week flights to Faro start on June 7 and the three times-a-week flights to Malaga start on June 8. Both routes will operate year round.

British Airways flies to 12 destinations from London City airport including Palma de Mallorca, Ibiza, Faro, Barcelona, Nice, Madrid and Malaga.

Flights are operated by wholly owned British Airways’ subsidiary BA CityFlyer.

BA CityFlyer to fly to Malaga and Faro from London City

BA CityFlyer (London-City) from June 7, 2011 will fly to Malaga in Spain and Faro in Portugal. Flights to Malaga will operate four times a week and flights to Faro three times a week.

British Airways converts two Embraer ERJ 190 options, will launch London City-Stockholm Arlanda on January 9

British Airways (London) is converting two Embraer ERJ 190 options for its BA CityFlyer subsidiary. As a result, BA CityFlyer will launch London City-Stockholm Arlanda service on January 9, 2011.

BA CityFlyer to fly London City-Chambery

British Airways (London) is extending its route network from London City Airport this winter with a new flight from London to Chambery, the gateway to the French Alps.

The service, by BA CityFlyer, the wholly owned subsidiary of British Airways, will operate four times a week from December 18, 2010 until the end of March 2011, using the airline’s fleet of brand new Embraer ERJ 190 aircraft. Flights to Chambery will depart on Mondays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays with flights from the French ski destination back to London on Mondays, Tuesdays, Saturdays and Sundays.

BA CityFlyer converts two ERJ 190 options

BA CityFlyer (British Airways) (London) has converted two Embraer ERJ 190 options to firm orders. The company will also begin flying the London (City)-Stockholm (Arlanda) route next year according to this FlightGlobal report.
