Delta to fly nonstop San Jose, CA – New York JFK next summer

Delta Air Lines is planning to introduce nonstop service between San Jose, CA and the New York (JFK) hub next summer. The new daily flight will start on June 8, 2018 from San Jose and operate with Boeing 737-800 aircraft.

Delta confirmed the new route with this statement:

Delta customers will have a new options for transiting the Bay Area and New York City in June when new nonstop service between Mineta San Jose International Airport and New York-JFK debuts.

Delta’s onboard experience will be on Boeing 737-800 aircraft, equipped with on-demand entertainment, power ports and in-flight Wi-Fi access at every seat. Delta will offer seating for 16 in First Class, 36 in Comfort+ and 108 in the main cabin.

The new flights will operate as follows:

The service complements more than 20 Delta departures on an average day at San Jose to its hubs in Atlanta, Minneapolis/St. Paul, Los Angeles, Seattle and Salt Lake City, offering customers easy one-stop connections to its global network of more than 300 destinations worldwide. It also complements nonstop Delta service between San Francisco International Airport and JFK.

Delta and WestJet agree to form a joint venture

Delta Air Lines and WestJet have agreed to deepen their existing partnership by entering into a comprehensive transborder joint venture that will increase travel choices between the U.S. and Canada.

The airlines have entered into a preliminary memorandum of understanding regarding their intention to deepen their existing partnership to form aย commercial joint venture arrangement, which will offer customers access to an extensive transborder route network, world-class airline products, enhanced frequent flyer benefits, shared airport facilities and amenities, and a more seamless travel experience.

Highlights of the planned joint venture arrangement, subject to board approvals, execution of definitive agreements and applicable regulatory approvals, in the United States and Canada, include:

  • Coordinated flight schedules for new nonstop flights to new destinations, expanded codesharing, and seamless and convenient connections on the airlinesโ€™ extensive networks in the U.S. and Canada.
  • Enhanced frequent flyer benefits including reciprocal benefits for top-tier members of both airlines.

Delta to offer mainline service between Seattle/Tacoma and Vancouver

Delta Air Lines is supplementing Delta Connection Embraer 175 flights (operated by Compass Airlines) with mainline Boeing 737-800 flights on the Seattle/Tacoma – Vancouver route effective June 8, 2018 per Airline Route.
