Air Canada to bring the Boeing 737-8 MAX 8 to Los Angeles and San Francisco

Nowย retrofitted with the WiFi antenna

Air Canada (Montreal) is bringing its new Boeing 737-8 MAX 8 to California for the summer season. The new type is being assigned to the Los Angeles daily market from Toronto (Pearson) starting on May 1, 2018. The Toronto – San Francisco route will also be added starting on May 16, 2018 per Airline Route.

In addition, from February 1, 2018 the new Boeing will be operating domestically on the Toronto – Calgary, Toronto – Montreal and Toronto – Vancouver routes.

Air Canada’s new Boeing 737-8 MAX 8 to enter service on December 11

The first Boeing 737-8 MAX 8 for AC, will become  C-FTJV,  fleet number 501

Starting December 11, 2017, the first Boeing 737 Max aircraft will enter Air Canada’s fleet and begin flying within Canada.

The aircraft will initially be deployed on select flights on the following routes:

  • Montreal – Calgary
  • Montreal – Toronto
  • Montreal – Vancouver
  • Toronto – Ottawa

The Boeing 737 aircraft will gradually replace Air Canada’s existing mainline fleet of Airbus narrowbody aircraft, creating one of the world’s youngest, most fuel efficient and simplified airline fleets.

The first Boeing 737-8 MAX 8 for AC, will become  C-FTJV,  fleet number 501, delivered on October 31, 2017

Air Canada on October 31, 2017 took delivery of its first Boeing 737-8 MAX 8.
