Swoop has released its core summer 2019 schedule with flights available for booking from April 28, 2019 through to October 26, 2019. The release extends many routes and sets the stage for the publication of the full summer schedule in the next few months, which is expected to add both frequency and new markets.

The schedule extends service in Swoop’s five domestic markets of Halifax, Hamilton, Winnipeg, Edmonton and Abbotsford as well as the transborder destination of Las Vegas.

In the coming months, Swoop will finalize the remaining additions to the schedule including incorporating plans for their seventh aircraft, which is expected to be delivered in May of 2019.

Tomorrow Swoop will debut a new weekly feature on its website aimed to stimulate travel to new destinations while easing the cost of booking during the advertised period. FlyDay Fares are sale-fares released on the airline’s website every Friday at 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. MST. The markets offered vary from week-to-week but share the commonality of providing great value.

Swoop has announced a new domestic route providing direct service four times weekly between Edmonton International Airport (YEG) and Winnipeg Richardson International Airport (YWG). Service begins October 11, 2018 and will operate through to April 27, 2019.

“This is a welcome addition to our western base of Edmonton,” said Steven Greenway, President of Swoop. “We are witnessing a positive response to our ultra-low-cost model in both Edmonton and Winnipeg. Connecting these two cities is a natural progression of our network strategy as we continue to stimulate more travel, more often for our savvy travellers.”

Today Swoop entered its fourth aircraft into service with the launch of a seasonal summer route between Abbotsford International Airport (YXX) and Winnipeg Richardson International Airport (YWG). The sold-out inaugural flight departs YXX at 6:00 p.m PST. Flights are offered daily until Labour Day, after which time they will be offered five times per week until the end of the summer schedule on October 27, 2018.

“We have received our fourth aircraft in perfect time to offer this daily service for end-of-summer vacations and to aid students who are relocating to attend post-secondary in the fall,” said Karen McIsaac, Senior Advisor of Communications at Swoop. “It’s a highlight for us to see the results of our low fares connecting friends and families in different provinces, such as on this sold-out flight today.”

The addition of the Abbotsford to Winnipeg route has doubled the weekly frequency schedule in Winnipeg, and added 7 flights to the Abbotsford weekly frequency schedule.

Swoop became the first Canadian ultra-low-cost carrier (ULCC) to enter the U.S. market when it released its 2018/19 winter schedule with one-way sale fares starting as low as $99 CAD including taxes and fees, through to April 27, 2019.

The schedule includes routes from Edmonton to Las Vegas and Mesa; Hamilton to Las Vegas, Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood, Orlando and Tampa; and Abbotsford to Las Vegas.

Swoop has been vocal about its intention to repatriate the estimated 5 million Canadians that drive across the border each year to take ULCC flights in the U.S., and this winter schedule is positioned to attract both cross-border travellers and price-sensitive sun-seekers.

Flights are available for booking from October 11, 2018 to April 27, 2019.

To celebrate this important milestone, Swoop will be offering a web-only seat sale beginning on August 2, 2018.

Swoop released its domestic winter schedule with flights available for booking from October 27, 2018 to April 27, 2019. Swoop also welcomed its third aircraft for the inaugural flight from Abbotsford International Airport (YXX) to Edmonton International Airport (YEG), departing July 25, 2018 at 7:10 a.m. Service between Edmonton, AB and Abbotsford, BC will be offered three-times daily.

The airline, which started operations on June 20, 2018 has been warmly received by Canadian travellers, with steady bookings and noticeably full flights.

The extended schedule continues to serve Swoop’s five markets of Halifax, Hamilton, Winnipeg, Edmonton and Abbotsford.

To celebrate the route launch between Edmonton and Abbotsford, Swoop will be offering a web-only seat sale beginning on July 25, 2018.

Swoop on June 25 celebrated its inaugural flight from EdmontonInternational Airport (YEG) to John C. Munro Hamilton International Airport (YHM). The sold-out flight is scheduled to depart at 10:25 AM MDT. In addition to the first flight, Swoop announced Edmonton as its second operational base.

As of October, Swoop will base two of its Boeing 737-800 aircraft in Edmonton resulting in the creation of almost 90 jobs in the region.

Today, the airline also launched its inaugural flight from Winnipeg Richardson International airport to Hamilton.

Swoop also launched sold out flights from Hamilton, Abbotsford and Halifax on June 20.
