Due to coronavirus outbreak, our flights to Chinaโs Xiโan, Guangzhou and Shanghai cities are cancelled until March 29, 2020.
Our flights to Beijing are cancelled until March 9, 2020 and further actions will be determined after talks with related authorities.
Turkish Airlines added Xiโan, the Chinese city with three thousand years of history, to its flight network on December 30, 2019. Xiโan became the flag carrierโs fourth destination in Mainland China and the 318th destination in the world. The flights will be operated three times a week with Airbus A330 aircrafts.
Turkish Airlines passengers traveling to Xiโan, one of the oldest civilizations of the world, will have the opportunity to explore the numerous cultural heritages along with the historical fabric of the three thousand years old city. Serving as the capital of 13 different dynasties during the history of China, the regionโs most popular destination is the Terracotta Army, which draws over two million tourists annually. Hidden underground for nearly 2200 years, it was first discovered during the excavations in 1974. Featuring eight thousand terracotta soldiers, it is considered as the Eighth Wonder of the World.

Beginning its flights to China back in 1999 with Beijing destination, Turkish Airlines is connecting Xiโan to its flight network as its fourth destination in mainland China after Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou on the 20th year of its presence in the country.
After the meeting between Turkish Airlines Chairman of the Board and the Executive Committee, M. ฤฐlker Aycฤฑ and Secretary of the Shaanxi Province Party Committee, Hu Heping on November 5, 2019, an agreement was made for Turkish Airlines to start its flights to Xiโan destination.
Xiโan flights will initially be three frequencies a week as the flights are being planned to start at the end of 2019 while they are set to increase gradually as the 2020 summer schedule begins. With the launch of Xiโan flights, Turkish Airlinesโ reciprocal flights to China will increase to 24 flights a week.
In other news, Turkish Airlines has also announced itsย Ulaanbaatar flights, which are operated as Istanbul โ Bishkek (FRU) โ Ulaanbaatar (ULN) โ Bishkek (FRU) โ Istanbul, will be operated as 3 flights per week as Istanbul โ Ulaanbaatar (ULN) โ Istanbul as of January 1, 2020

Turkish Airlines and Kuwait Airwaysย have announced a new strategic partnership, which will see Kuwait national carrierโs code added to Turkish Airlines flights, and Turkeyโs national carrierโs code added to Kuwait Airways flights operated between Kuwait and Istanbul/Sabiha Gokcen Airports. The Bilateral Codeshare Partnership will commence from August 1, 2019.
Both Airlines have endeavored a cordial commercial relationship since 1991, and since then both airlines have been reaping the rewards of such partnership. Turkish Airlines and Kuwait Airwaysโ cooperation further strengthened by signing renewed โSpecial Prorate Agreementโ in May 2019, and this codeshare agreement is now expected to take the partnership of two national flag carriers to a new height, and provide a great opportunity for the passengers from Kuwait and Turkey.
Signing of this agreement coincides with the time when Kuwait market is witnessing steady growth in travel to Turkish cities as a main tourist destination famous for its rich history, hospitality, culture and other facilities which make the visit to Turkey a perfect holiday experience.
It is worth mentioning that Kuwait Airways operates weekly 7 flights with A330/320/777 aircraft to Istanbul, and 7 weekly flights to Sabiha Gokcen; while Turkish Airlines operates 28 flights with A320/738/330 aircraft from Istanbul, and 14 flights with A320/738 aircraft from Sabiha Gokcen.
Turkish Airlines and LOT Polish Airlines, the largest airlines and flag carriers of their countries, Turkey and Poland, have announced the enhancement of their current codeshare agreement with additional destinations both from Turkish Airlinesโ and LOTโs flight network.

Turkish Airlines has announced that up to 30 new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft will join the airlinesโ young and fast-growing fleet over the next four years, and each will feature the carrierโs bespoke, all-new Business Class Cabins. The Turkish national flag carrier had placed 25 firm + 5 optional orders in last year for the 787-9 Dreamliner, which will be gradually added to its expanding fleet โ the youngest in the world โ between 2019 and 2023.
Regarded as one of the most advanced aircraft for its fuel efficiency and range flexibility, the 787-9 Dreamliner will open new routes for Turkish Airlines, reinforcing its status as the carrier that flies to more countries than any other. The new aircraft will offer passengers refined comfort during the longest journeys across 311 destinations in 124 countries.
As part of the 787 Dreamliner family, the 787-9 is powered by a suite of new technologies and a revolutionary design. It can fly 7,635 nautical miles (14,140 km) in addition to carrying more cargo and allowing the airline to profitably grow its routes. The airplane allows operators to achieve better fuel efficiency per seat compared to the previous airplanes in its class.
Turkish Airlinesโ Dreamliner has a seating capacity for 300 passengers, including 270 economy class seats and 30 business class seats. The carrierโs 787 includes long haul economy class seats and business class monuments produced in Turkey by Turkish suppliers.

The first 787-9 Dreamliner flight will depart from the new home of Turkish Airlines, Istanbul Airport, to Antalya on July 8, 2019, and its first international flight will be from Istanbul to Denpasar (Bali) on July 17, one of the new routes to be added to the network for 2019.
Following those, it will continue to carry passengers on a number of medium and long-haul exotic routes through the summer. They include routes into London, Dubai, Washington DC, New York, Atlanta, Mexico City, Cancun, Bali, Amsterdam, Delhi, Panama City, and Bogota.
By the end of August 2019, six 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft will be operational and servicing international routes, heralding the start of a new chapter in the growth of Turkish Airlinesโ young and modern fleet.
In other news,ย Turkish Airlines has added Nigeriaโs Port Harcourt to its flight network.
Flying to more countries that any other airline, Turkish Airlines added Port Harcourt, an important city in Nigeria, to its flight network as the global carrierโs 56th destination in Africa. Flag carrier will operate four weekly reciprocal flights between Istanbul and Port Harcourt.
Already flying to Lagos, Kano and Abuja in Nigeria, Turkish Airlines added Port Harcourt to the list, increasing its flight network to 311 destinations. With this launch, the global carrier continues to be the leader as the airline that flies to more destinations than any other airline in Africa.
