Vision Airlines to offer connections through Destin/Fort Walton Beach

Vision Airlines (Atlanta) effective June 1 will offer passengers connections through its expanding Destin/Fort Walton Beach hub at the Northwest Florida Regional Airport.

Vision Airlines to fly Tunica-Destin/Fort Walton Beach

Vision Airlines (Atlanta) has announced nonstop flights from Tunica, MS., to Destin/Ft. Walton Beach, FL, beginning on June 1. Service will be aboard a 32-seat Dornier 328-100 turboprop aircraft. Flights will depart on Sundays, Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays.

Tunica is located about 30 minutes south of Memphis, TN. Tunica is known as the Southโ€™s Casino Capital with nine world-class casinos, 6,000 luxurious hotel rooms, fine dining restaurants and buffets, headline entertainers, championship golf and tennis, award-winning museums, lavish spas, and outlet/antique shopping.

Vision Airlines announces new Las Vegas flights

Vision Airlines (Atlanta) has announced the airline will offer new service to Las Vegas from Destin/Ft Walton Beach and Baton Rouge. Additionally, Vision Airlines is also expanding its service to Destin/Ft Walton Beach from several new markets including nonstop flights from Tunica/Memphis, TN, St. Louis, MO, Lafayette, LA and Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood, FL. Vision Airlines will increase its service between Atlanta and Destin/Ft Walton Beach to daily service. The new schedule will take effect on June 1, 2011.

Vision Airlines is introducing these new markets and routes with a limited-time fare sale of $39 each way.

Vision Airlines now services 24 markets with non-stop flights to and from NW Florida Regional Airport, located at Destin/Ft Walton Beach.

Vision Airlines selects AMES for its Boeing aircraft maintenance

Vision Airlines (Atlanta) has selected AMES to perform aircraft maintenance on its Boeing 737 and 767 fleet. Airborne Maintenance & Engineering Services (AMES), a subsidiary of Air Transport Services Group, Inc. has announced additional contracts with Vision Airlines for support of Vision’s Boeing 767 and Boeing 737 aircraft.

Vision Airlines sells 120,000 tickets in 120 hours

Vision Airlines (Atlanta) sold more than 12,000 tickets during its first 120 hours of e-commerce operations.

On Tuesday, January 18, Vision Airlines unveiled its 23 city mega-expansion plan and its $49 introductory fare sale for its first flights to Florida, which are scheduled to take-off on March 25.

Vision Airlines says within 48 hours it sold-out of all $49 seats. Now, in response to immense customer demand, the airline is adding more $49 seats on every flight to Florida. The airline is also extending its introductory $49 fare sale, which was slated to end on Sunday but is now continuing through January 31, 2011.

As we previously reported, charter airline Vision Airlines is now expanding into regularly-scheduled commercial passenger service.

Vision Airlines expands its scheduled operations

Vision Airlines (Atlanta) is expanding its scheduled route map with new service to many cities. The company has announced, new scheduled nonstop, service beginning on April 1, 2011 between Sanford (near Orlando) SFB and Northwest Florida Regional Airport (VPS) in Ft. Walton Beach / Destin, FL. Vision is greatly expanding its presence at VPS with new year-round scheduled service to Baton Rouge, LA; Columbia, SC; Little Rock, AR, Shreveport, LA and other cities.

On the Sanford route, Vision Airlines will operate four flights per week on Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday using 148-seat Boeing 737-400 aircraft. Flights from Northwest Florida depart at 1:20 p.m. (1320) and arrive at Orlando Sanford at 3:30 p.m. (1530). Flights will depart Orlando Sanford at 4:15 p.m. (1615) and arrive at Northwest Florida at 4:20 p.m. (1620) (all flight times are local).

Vision Airlines to start Atlanta-Louisville service on December 13

Vision Airlines (North Las Vegas) has announced that it is expanding into regularly-scheduled commercial passenger service with new nonstop flights between Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) and Louisville International Airport (SDF) beginning on December 13, 2010.

Vision Airlines transports the Russian spies to Vienna

Vision Airlines (North Las Vegas) was in the news today as it was contracted by the U.S. government to transport from New York (LaGuardia) to Vienna 10 spies and their families. The spies were arrested in the U.S. and swapped for four convicted spies in Russia.

Vision Airlines adds Blended Winglets to 737-8Q8 N781VA

Vision Airlines (North Las Vegas) has added Aviation Partners Blended Winglets to its first Boeing 737-800. Ex-Sterling 737-8Q8 N781VA (msn 28214, ex OY-SEB) was leased on March 25, 2009. It is now based at Miami for the Cuban charter program.
