Horizon Air claims to be the fifth most on-time carrier in the world

Horizon Air (Seattle/Tacoma) is claiming to be Number 5 in the world in on-time performance and Number 1 in the United States – according to Forbes.com, using 2009 data compiled by Portland, OR-based FlightStats. Horizon was one of only two U.S. airlines to make the worldwide top 10 list.

Horizon operated 142,094 flights in 2009. Of those flights, 85.88 percent were on time (less than 15 minutes late), according to FlightStats.

This is quite a feat given the weather of the Pacific Northwest.  Well done Horizon.
