Gulfstream International Airlines (Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood) yesterday (October 1) inaugurated service from Parkersburg, WV to the Continental Airlines hub in Cleveland, OH. This new route is being flown under Gulfstream’s Continental Connection (soon United Express) affiliation with Continental Airlines. The new service will consist of four round-trips each weekday and four flights over the weekend, which is twice the frequency offered by the previous carrier. As previously announced, the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) awarded Gulfstream a new two-year contract as the Essential Air Service (EAS) provider for Parkersburg, providing direct service to Cleveland.
