Miami International Airport (MIA) today welcomed the first Airbus A380 scheduled flight to the airport. Lufthansa, as planned, launched the A380 service on the Frankfurt-Miami route. MIA welcome the new airplane with a touch of the past – a Douglas DC-3 painted in American Airlines colors and a Douglas DC-7B painted in Eastern Air Lines.
