Today, October 7, KLM celebrates 100 years since its foundation:

The establishment of the ‘Royal Dutch Airlines for the Netherlands and Colonies’ as it was then called. The founders were a group of investors who asked Albert Plesman to take up the daily supervision of the business. Plesman would later be named Director of KLM.
