Emirates announces a codeshare partnership with LATAM Airlines Brazil on 17 Brazilian routes

Emirates has announced a new codeshare partnership agreement with LATAM Airlines Brazil covering domestic services in Brazil, providing greater choice and connectivity to its customers.

Emirates passengers travelling to and from Brazil will now be able to connect with 17 cities in LATAM’s domestic network covered by the codeshare agreement including Belo Horizonte, Brasília and Foz do Iguaçu (more details below). Passengers travelling to/from these cities will now be able to connect seamlessly in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro with Emirates’ flights to its Dubai hub, which serves over 150 destinations worldwide.

The agreement will offer Emirates passengers more choice to travel to/from Brazil with minimum connection times to destinations in Emirates’ global network such as Japan, Australia and India amongst others.

Emirates currently serves two Brazil gateways with daily services to Dubai from Sao Paulo, operated by the A380, and Rio de Janeiro, operated by the newly-refurbished Boeing 777-200LR as of June 1, 2019. Passengers can also fly to Buenos Aires and Santiago de Chile (from June 1, 2019) onboard the Boeing 777-200LR from Rio de Janeiro.

LATAM Brazil is coming to Munich

LATAM Airlines Brazil announced it plans to serve Munich, Germany from São Paulo in the first half of 2019, subject to regulatory approval. More details including dates of operation, schedules, aircraft type and ticket availability will be communicated in the coming months.

The Bavarian capital will become LATAM’s second destination in Germany after Frankfurt and its ninth European city.

With the new route, LATAM Airlines Group and its affiliates will offer flights to 143 destinations in 26 countries. In 2017 alone, LATAM inaugurated 13 new international routes, including the longest flight in its history, Santiago-Melbourne. During 2018, LATAM will launch a further 17 international flights, having already commenced services such as Lima-San Jose (Costa Rica) and São Paulo-Rome, with inaugural flights to new destinations including Boston (July) and Tel Aviv (December) still to come.

LATAM Brasil is coming to Las Vegas

LATAM Airlines Brasil is planning to operate seasonal flights to Las Vegas from December 15, 2018 to March 1, 2019. The new route will operate three days a week with Boeing 767-300 aircraft according to Airline Route.

LATAM Brazil to fly the Fortaleza – Orlando route

LATAM Airlines (Brazil) is planning to add a twice-weekly route linking Fortaleza and Orlando starting on July 5, 2018. The flights will be operated with Boeing 767-300s per Airline Route.

LATAM Airlines Brazil is coming to Las Vegas

LATAM Airlines (Brazil) is adding seasonal Boeing 767-300 ER service to Las Vegas next summer (winter in the Southern Hemisphere). The carrier will operate three times a week from June 21 until August 31, 2018 according to Airline Route.

LATAM is coming to Boston, Rome and Lisbon

LATAM Airlines Group has announced plans to offer three new international routes in 2018 –Boston (United States), Rome (Italy), and Lisbon (Portugal) – all to its São Paulo/Guarulhos hub in Brazil, increasing connectivity from North America and Europe to Latin America.

The city of Boston will be the sixth addition to LATAM’s offer in the United States.

São Paulo-Rome service

Starting on March 16, 2018, LATAM Airlines Brazil flight JJ8180 will depart São Paulo/Guarulhos at 15:55 on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, arriving in Rome (Leonardo da Vinci International Airport) at 07:55 the next day, with a travel time of 12 hours. The return flight, JJ8181, will depart Rome at 10:00 on Monday, Thursday and Saturday, arriving in São Paulo at 18:35 the same day, with a flight time of 12 hours and 35 minutes (all times local).

LATAM Airlines Brazil will operate the route with Boeing 767 aircraft, offering 191 seats in Economy and 30 seats in Premium Business. There will be three weekly flights (increasing to five weekly flights in July 2018) from São Paulo to Rome, which will become the group’s second destination in Italy, after Milan.

LATAM Airlines Group and its affiliates currently serve five cities in the United States (Miami, Orlando, New York, Washington D.C. and Los Angeles) and six destinations in Europe (Madrid, Barcelona, Paris, London, Frankfurt and Milan).

With these three new routes, the airline group will operate flights to 143 destinations in 26 countries. Since the beginning of 2016, LATAM has announced and/or launched 25 new international routes, including São Paulo-Johannesburg, Lima-Barcelona, Lima Washington D.C., Santiago-Melbourne and Lima-San José, Costa Rica.

LATAM Airlines takes delivery of the first Airbus A320neo in South America

LATAM Airlines Group took delivery of its first Airbus A320neo – showcasing its white, indigo and coral livery and powered by Pratt & Whitney Pure Power PW1100-JM engines – on Monday, August 29, 2016 at Airbus headquarters in Toulouse.

LATAM Airlines Brasil will become the first airline in North and South America, and the fifth operator in the world, to operate the ultra-fuel efficient aircraft type.

Executives from LATAM and Airbus attended a delivery ceremony, which also marked the delivery of LATAM’s fourth A350 XWB — the first with the airline group’s new brand livery. LATAM was also the Americas’ first A350 XWB operator.

The A320 is configured in a 174-seat layout with 18” wide seats and equipped with the innovative Space-Flex cabin configuration. LATAM was the first in Latin America to order the A320neo in 2011, shortly after the program was launched. The airline group has a total of 67 A320neo Family aircraft on order.

Initially, LATAM plans to fly its first A320neo on Brazilian domestic routes to Brasília, Belo Horizonte, Campo Grande, Curitiba, Florianópolis, Porto Alegre, Recife, Rio de Janeiro (Galeão) and São Paulo (Guarulhos).

In November, LATAM will begin to fly regional routes throughout South America. The second LATAM A320neo, to be delivered later this year, is also expected to operate regional flights. The airline group has more than 250 Airbus aircraft in operation.
