RwandAir leases two Boeing 737-500s from GECAS

RwandAir (Kigali) has leased two Boeing 737-500s from GECAS as a stop-gap measure until its two new Boeing 737-800s are delivered in 2011. The first, ext-LOT Polish Airlines Boeing 737-55D 9XR-WD (msn 27416, ex SP-LKA), was delivered on June 7.

RwandAir adds two CRJ200s, negotiates for two Boeing 737-800s

RwandAir (Kigali) as previously reported, is acquiring two CRJ200s from Lufthansa. The flag carrier is also negotiating for two Boeing 737-800s for delivery in 2011.

More details on JetLink Express CRJ100 accident at Kigali

JetLink Express (Nairobi) was the operator of the CRJ100 (5Y-JLD, msn 7197) operating for RwandAir (Kigali) that crashed yesterday into the terminal building at Kigali yesterday. The aircraft was in JetLink colors. We have more details and information.

RwandAir CRJ slams into the side of a building

RwandAir (Kigali) had an odd incident today in Kigali with a reported Bombardier CRJ100. Although details are still sketchy according to this published report the airliner slammed into the side of the terminal building. Passengers and crew members were taken to local hospitals.
