Swiss International Air Lines (Zurich) took delivery of its first (of nine) new 236-seat Airbus A330-343X registered HB-JHA (msn 1000, ex F-WWYX) on April 15. The first of the new type is named “Schwyz” after the central Swiss town. HB-JHA entered revenue service on April 20 on flights 14/15 between Zurich and New York (JFK). Eventually the newer A330-300s will replace the existing A330-200 fleet through 2011.
