Petra Airlines (Amman) is a new charter airline based in Jordan. It is named after the famous historic site in the country. The new airline is a member of the Rum Group for Transportation and Tourism Investment PSC. The company took delivery of the first of two A320 aircraft (A320-212 JY-PTA, msn 459) on October 7 in Amman. Riad Khashman, the Chairman and CEO of Rum Group and Petra Airlines, said that the delivery of Petra’s first A320 constitutes the beginning of the company’s operations, which fulfilled the requirements of the Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission (CARC) as a commercial air carrier.
The company is expecting to take delivery of the second A320 later this month.
Petra Airlines entered into maintenance agreements with Jordan Aircraft Maintenance Limited (JorAMCo) and Airbus International, by which Petra Airlines will receive logistical and technical support for its aircraft.
