Watermakers Air to add a new Cessna Caravan EX to its fleet

Watermakers Air has announced it is adding a Cessna Caravan EX as the newest addition to their fleet of Cessna 208B Grand Caravans. Delivered direct from the Cessna factory, this state of the art Caravan EX will be the newest, most comfortable Caravan available in South Florida. The modern Caravan EX boasts a luxurious cabin our passengers are sure to enjoy, with executive leather seating, a wide aisle, and large windows to savor the beautiful views of the islands. Equipped with the most advanced technology in its class, the EX features the exceptional Garmin G1000 glass cockpit avionics suite. In addition, the larger engine and four-bladed prop allow for a faster cruising speed and provide an ultra-quiet and smooth ride.

All scheduled flights are operated by Exuma Cays Travel, Inc., a Public Charter Operator under the approved U.S. DOT 380 Public Charter Program, prospectus number PC-15-191.

Watermakers Air was formed in 2002 for the specific purpose of flying passengers, as well as freight and supplies. Although the name harkens back to the time when our operation was primarily a support division of Watermakers, Inc., we are now a stand-alone FAA certified public charter operator for both passengers and freight.

SeaPort Airlines to introduce Burbank-San Diego service on October 1, wants to serve San Felipe, Mexico

SeaPort Airlines, Inc. (Portland, OR) has announced that it will increase its presence in Southern California with the introduction of nonstop flights between Burbank Bob Hope Airport (BUR) and San Diego International Airport (SAN) beginning on October 1, 2014.

The carrier will initially offer four roundtrips each weekday on the new route, one roundtrip on Saturday, and two roundtrips on Sunday. All flights will be operated with SeaPort’s Cessna 208 Caravan aircraft and are scheduled for 65 minutes from gate to gate.

Flights on the Burbank – San Diego route will be timed to allow connections with SeaPort’s proposed new service between San Diego – San Felipe (Baja California, Mexico). Subject to receipt of necessary approvals from the United States and Mexico governments, SeaPort plans to offer four weekly roundtrips on the route beginning on or around November 1, 2014.

Makani Kai Air Cessna 208B Grand Caravan crashes into the water off of Molokai’s north shore, one dead

Makani Kai Air (Makani Kai Helicopters) (Honolulu) Cessna 208B Gran Caravan N687MA (msn 1002) (above) carrying eight passengers and a pilot crashed into the Pacific Ocean off the north shore of Molokai, Hawaii yesterday afternoon. State Health Department Director Loretta Fuddy died in the ditching. The single engine Caravan had departed from Kalaupapa bound for the Honolulu base.

According to the charter airline the company has been “providing air charter, air tours, aircraft management and aircraft maintenance since 1988”.

The airline specializes in aerial tours of Molokai from other points in Hawaii. Here is the information on this “Kalaupapa Experience” tour from the airline’s website:
