CityJet unveils a new Leinster Rugby logojet

CityJet (Dublin) yesterday (May 17) rolled out this BAe RJ85 EI-RJX (msn E2372) in the colors of Leinster Rugby (see above). Both Cityjet and the Bank of Ireland are the official partners of Leinster Rugby.

EI-RJX was officially unveiled today (May 18) in Dublin (see below). This aircraft will carry the Leinster rugby team to London to play against Ulster in the Heineken Cup Final. Without doubt, the biggest rugby game in Europe.

The airframe was previously operated by Mesaba Airlines as N536XJ as a NWA Airlink carrier.

CityJet posts a pre-tax loss of $69.8 million in 2011

CityJet (Dublin) reported pre-tax loses of $69.8 million in 2011 according to this report by the Independent.ie.

The loss increased by seven percent over the previous year despite revenue increases of 21 percent.

The VLM Airlines brand is now gone

CityJet (Dublin) has repainted the last Fokker F.27 Mk. 050 of VLM Airlines. The VLM brand is now retired.

VLM Airlines being rebranded as CityJet

VLM Airlines (Antwerp) has started repainting its fleet into CityJet’s 2007 colors. CityJet will be the surviving carrier when Air France subsidiary CityJet (Dublin) is merged with VLM. The two carriers will operate under the CityJet name starting on January 1, 2010. However both carriers will continue to operate under each AOC until this date.
