Flybe to drop 23 routes, will phase out the Embraer jets

Flybe, under new ownership, is ending service on 23 routes in the fall according to Airline Route.

Following routes will be discontinued:

As previously announced, the carrier will be focusing on the Bombardier Q400 as its core aircraft type in the future.

The Embraer 175s will be phased out in late 2019.

The Embraer 195s will be returned to its lessors by 2020.

Air Europa Express salutes the Civil Guard of Spain

The Civil Guard (Spanish: Guardia Civil) is the oldest law enforcement agency covering the whole of Spain. It is celebrating this 2019 its 175th anniversary. The Guardia Civil was founded as a national police force in 1844 during the reign of Queen Isabel II of Spain.

Fort this reason an Embraer 195 from Air Europa Express (EC-LKM) is displaying special titles “Guardia Civil. 175 años a tu lado” (“Civil Guard, 175 years by your side”).

NAC delivers two Embraer jets to Belavia

Nordic Aviation Capital (NAC) is pleased to announce that it has delivered one new Embraer E195, msn 19000765 and one new E175, msn 17000782, to JSC Belavia-Belarusian Airlines on lease.

The five aircraft agreement, which comprises of three E195’s and two E175’s, is an essential part of Belavia’s fleet growth initiative which will allow them to successfully implement their cost-effective development strategy.

LOT Polish to launch two new routes from London City Airport

LOT Polish Airlines will fly directly from Warsaw (WAW) to London City (LCY) up to twice a day. For this special route to London City, LOT has acquire 4 brand-new Embraer 190 jets.

Flights from Warsaw to London City will be operated according to the following schedule: Departures to LCY daily (except Sundays) at 7:15am, arrivals at 9:00am and daily (except Saturdays) at 4:15pm, arrivals at 6:00pm. Departures to WAW are scheduled daily (except Sundays) at 9:30am, arrivals at 1:00pm and daily (except Saturdays) at 6:30pm, arrivals at 10:00pm.

The new to London City from Warsaw will commence on February 18, 2019.

The airline will also start a new Vilnius – London City route on May 1, 2019.

The following schedule enables particularly business travelers flying from Warsaw, as well as Vilnius, Kiev, Lviv, Riga, Bucharest, Larnaca or Tbilisi to complete their journey within one working day. London City Airport, conveniently located in London’s Royal Docks, is the nearest airport to the business and financial centre of London, including the City of London just 6 miles away. It is also expected that the route will appeal to leisure travelers seeking city breaks in either direction.

Austrian Airlines signs new collective bargaining agreement for flight personnel valid until 2022

Austrian Airlines issued this statement:

• Significant rise in entry-level salaries for flight attendants
• Enhanced flexibility of working hours

Employer and employee representatives signed a new collective agreement applying to the Austrian Airlines flight personnel lasting until 2022. This agreement was preceded by long negotiations. In May and June 2018, the negotiating parties ultimately agreed on a key points paper for the collective bargaining agreement. Negotiations over the past months focused on formulating the texts and contractual details.

“For the first time we have concluded a collective agreement applying over a period of four years. The long-term validity of the agreement brings peace and stability to the company. Furthermore, working as flight attendants and pilots has once again become more appealing. We have raised entry-level salaries to a good level and also opened up new perspectives for our existing flight and cabin crew”, according to Human Resources Manager Nathalie Rau and Accountable Manager Jens Ritter of Austrian Airlines, who led the employer negotiating team.

As already presented in the key points paper, current salaries for flight attendants and pilots will be hiked by 5.5% in 2018 and 2.5% in 2019, to be followed by a 1.83% rise in 2020 and by an increase of at least 1.4% in 2021. Particular attention was paid to raising starting gross salaries for flight attendants, which will be increased by 10.7%, from EUR 1,533 to EUR 1,700. Allowances for cabin managers will also be raised.

At the same time, flight duty regulations were made considerably more flexible, enabling the company to more effectively compensate for seasonal fluctuations in passenger demand.

Austrian Airlines currently employs about 7,000 people, including 1,200 pilots and 2,400 flight attendants. The company is seeking to hire new employees for its cockpit and cabin crew.

LOT Polish to start Warsaw – London City flights

LOT Polish Airlines has announced it will start twice-daily service on January 7, 2019 between its Warsaw hub and London City Airport. The new route will be operated with Embraer 195 aircraft.

Saratov Airlines/Ivolga Airlines to shut down on May 31

As previously reported, Saratov Airlines announced on April 28, 2018 it operated its first flight (Saratov-Dalaman) as Ivolga Airlines.

That move, it appears, was not enough to satisfy the Russian regulators.

Rosaviatsia, which put the airline on a temporary AOC, has instructed the airline not to book and or issue tickets for any flights after May 30.

As a result, the carrier is shutting down all operations on May 31. Approximately 1,200 employees will be laid off.

NAC to lease five new Embraer E175 and E190 aircraft to Belavia

Nordic Aviation Capital (NAC) has announced that it has committed to lease five Embraer aircraft, three E195s and two E175s, to Belavia Belarusian Airlines, the largest carrier in the Republic of Belarus. The placement of the five new aircraft are from NAC’s existing Embraer order book.

The delivery of the first three aircraft, two E195s and one Е175, is expected as early as April 2019. The remaining two aircraft will be delivered in December 2019 and in April 2020, respectively.

The transaction is an essential part of Belavia’s fleet growth initiative which will allow them to successfully implement their strategy on growth and ensure cost-effective development.

LOT Polish Airlines to fly to Moscow Domodedovo

LOT Polish Airlines (Warsaw) will initiate a new route linking the Warsaw hub with Moscow (Domodedovo) on June 3, 2018. It will operates six days a week with Embraers according to Airline Route.

Belavia orders another Embraer 195, will replace its Boeing 737-500s

Belavia, the national carrier of Belarus, has recorded a 20% year-over-year increase in passengers and has ordered another Embraer 195 to keep up with demand.

The new airplane brings the total number of E-Jets in the fleet to seven – four E195s and three E175s. The latest E195 will be delivered in 2018. Belavia also announced orders for one E195 and one E175 at the Paris Air Show earlier this year.
