AerCap Holdings N.V. today announced it has signed an agreement with euroAtlantic Airways, a leading provider of ACMI services as well as charter aviation services, for the lease of two used Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners. The aircraft are scheduled to deliver in the spring of 2021, and will be the first 787s to be based in Portugal.
“We are very pleased as euroAtlantic Airways will be the first Portuguese operator of the ultra-modern 787 Dreamliner,” said Eugénio Fernandes, the CEO of the airline. “The 787’s incredible fuel efficiency and range provide tremendous flexibility for our customers as they profitably operate the airplane on a wide range of route networks and business models such as ACMI’s, Wet Lease or Charter flights.”
Norwegian Air Shuttle will wet lease Boeing 777-200s from EuroAtlantic Airways for the Paris (Orly) – Newark route and Privilege Style for the Rome (Fiumicino) – Newark route this summer according to Airline Route.

The airline was established as Air Zarco by Tomaz Metello and the largest Portuguese leisure corporation, Pestana Hotels and Resorts, on August 25, 1993. The charter airline adopted the name of Air Madeira in 1997 until May 17, 2000 when the current name of euroAtlantic Airways – Transportes Aéreos S.A. was adopted.

Sunwing Airlines (flysunwing.com) (Toronto-Pearson) will launch a summer seasonal route linking Toronto (Pearson) starting on June 13. Flights to Glasgow will operate weekly on Wednesdays and Saturdays, with returns on Thursdays and Sundays, until September 9, 2012. All flights will be aboard the wide-bodied Boeing 767-300, which seats up to 300 passengers.
All flights to Glasgow will be operated on the “High Frills” Sunwing Airlines, where passengers are treated to the award winning Champagne Service, which includes a bon-voyage glass of champagne, hot towel service, a choice of hot meals at lunch and dinner served with choice of wine, and complimentary in-flight entertainment, including first run movies.
EuroAtlantic Airways (Lisbon) has repainted its former Singapore Airlines Boeing 777-212 ER CS-TFM (msn 28513) into its house colors. The wide body jetliner was previously operated for Bangladesh Airlines.

Bangladesh Airlines (formerly Biman Bangladesh Airlines) (Dhaka) will introduce the euroAtlantic Airways-operated Boeing 777-200 in the new livery on February 6 between Dhaka and London (Heathrow). The new type will also be introduced to Singapore two days later.

Bangladesh Airlines (Dhaka) has introduced a new color scheme which eliminates the traditional Biman name. This Boeing 777-212 ER is the first Triple Seven for the company. A Boeing 737-800 and Airbus A310-300 has also been painted in the new livery.
