SATA Air Acores (Punta Delgada) is adding four Bombardier DHC-8-402s (Q400s). The first two are registered CS-TRD and CS-TRE.

Air Canada to reinstate seasonal St. John’s-London (Heathrow) Airbus A319 flights

Air Canada (Montreal) will reinstate the St. John’s-London (Heathrow) route for the summer season. The Airbus A319 will be operated on a daily basis between May 27, 2010 and September 26, 2010.

FedEx Corporation reports 2Q net profit of $345 million, down 30%

FedEx Corporation (FedEx Express) (Memphis) reported net income of $345 million in the fiscal second quarter ending on November 30. This represents a decline of 30 percent compared with the same period a year ago.

Skyservice Airlines leases a Boeing 757 from Thomson Airways

Skyservice Airlines (Toronto) on December 7 leased this Boeing 757-236 now registered C-GOEV (msn 29943, ex G-CPEV) from Thomson Airways.

CanJet Airlines “hires a taxi” for the winter season

CanJet Airlines (2nd) (Halifax) leased this Boeing 737-8K5 D-AHFO (msn 27987) on November 26, 2009 from TUIfly for the winter season. The airliner is painted in the “yellow taxi” colors of hlx.com (Hapag-Lloyd Express).

Arkefly returns Boeing 757-2Y0 C-FLOX to Skyservice

Skyservice Airlines (Toronto) is again operating its Boeing 757-2Y0 C-FLOX (msn 26158) for the winter season. The airliner is being operated in Arkefly’s (TUI) livery.

Air India Express (Mumbai) took delivery of its 24th Boeing 737-800 on September 29. 737-8HG VT-AYC (msn 36339) has an unique tapestry design on both sides of the tail surface. Further details on this design are welcome.

Canadian North cuts Yellowknife flights

Canadian North (Yellowknife) is cutting some flights from Yellowknife due to increased competition. The carrier will drop the Yellowknife-Calgary route on October 10 and the Yellowknife-Hay River route on October 25.

Air Canada (Montreal) has painted its Airbus A320-211 C-GQCA (msn 210) in the colors of the Irish rock band U2 with “ThreeSixtyAir” titles. The tourย isย in support of the group’s 2009 album “No Line on the Horizon”.ย ย The U2 360ยฐ Tour is named after the 360-degree staging and audience configuration it uses for shows,ย which U2 claims is “the first time a band has toured in stadiums with such a unique and original structure.” Previously AC decorated A320 C-FPWE for the U2 Vertigo Tour.
