Sundair plans to start Airbus A319 operations in April 2017

Sundair is a new German independent, middle-sized air carrier for the European market. According to its website, the new airline will offer leisure flights, ad-hoc charters and subservice flights.

Sundair is planning to start flight operations in April 2017 with Airbus A319s.

The prospective airline is based in Stralsund, Germany.

Frontier Airlines to add 42 new routes

Frontier Airlines (2nd) (Denver) will add new nonstop service in 42 markets throughout the United States. This new service begins in April.

Following is a list of the new markets:

Two new cities from Austin, Texas

Frontier will add nonstop service between Austin and Orlando, Fla. (June 15) and Philadelphia (May 15). Flights to Philadelphia will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays while flights to Orlando will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

Two new cities from Charlotte, N.C.

Frontier will add nonstop service between Charlotte and Chicago O’Hare and Orlando (both starting on April 15). Flights will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

Four new cities from Cincinnati

Frontier will add nonstop service between Cincinnati and Houston – IAH (April 15), Los Angeles (April 15), Philadelphia (May 13) and San Francisco (April 14). Flights to San Francisco will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays while flights to the other cities will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

Four new cities from Cleveland

Frontier will add nonstop service between Cleveland and Los Angeles (April 14); Philadelphia (April 15); Portland, Ore. (April 14) and San Francisco (April 15). Flights to Los Angeles and Portland will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays while flights to the other cities will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

Two new cities from Houston – IAH

Frontier will add nonstop service between Houston and Atlanta (April 14) and Cincinnati (April 15). Flights to Atlanta will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays while flights to Cincinnati will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

Three new cities from Kansas City, Mo.

Frontier will add nonstop service between Kansas City and Atlanta (April 15), Chicago O’Hare (April 14) and Philadelphia (June 2). Flights to Philadelphia will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays while flights to the other cities will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

Three new cities from Milwaukee

Frontier will add nonstop service between Milwaukee and Atlanta (April 15), Dallas/Fort Worth (April 14) and Philadelphia (June 2). Flights to Dallas/Fort Worth and Philadelphia will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays while flights to Atlanta will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

Three new cities from Nashville, Tenn.

Frontier will add nonstop service between Nashville and Chicago O’Hare (April 14), Orlando (April 14) and Philadelphia (April 15). Flights to Orlando will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays while flights to the other cities will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

Two new cities from New Orleans

Frontier will add nonstop service between New Orleans and Orlando (April 15) and Philadelphia (April 14). Flights to Philadelphia will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays while flights to Orlando will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

Four new cities from Phoenix

Frontier will add nonstop service between Phoenix and Atlanta (April 15), Detroit (April 15), Portland, Ore. (June 30) and Seattle/Tacoma (June 29). Flights to Portland will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays while flights to the other cities will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

Three new cities from Portland, Oregon

Frontier will add nonstop service between Portland and Chicago O’Hare (April 14), Cleveland (April 14) and Phoenix (June 29). Flights to Cleveland and Phoenix will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays while flights to Chicago O’Hare will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

Three new cities from Raleigh/Durham, N.C.

Frontier will add nonstop service between Raleigh/Durham and Atlanta (April 15), Orlando (April 14) and Philadelphia (April 14). Flights to Orlando and Philadelphia will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays while flights to Atlanta will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

Two new cities from St. Augustine, Florida

Frontier will add nonstop service between St. Augustine and Chicago O’Hare (April 14) and Philadelphia (April 15). Flights to Chicago will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays while flights to Philadelphia will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

Two new cities from Seattle/Tacoma

Frontier will add nonstop service between Seattle/Tacoma and Chicago O’Hare (April 14) and Phoenix (June 29). Flights to Chicago will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays while flights to Phoenix will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

Other New Markets

Frontier will also add new nonstops in the following markets not previously mentioned: Atlanta – Memphis (April 14), Indianapolis – Philadelphia (April 14), Minneapolis/St. Paul – Chicago O’Hare (April 15), St. Louis – Atlanta (April 14), Dallas-Fort Worth – Orlando (April 16) and San Francisco – Atlanta (April 15).

Resumption of Seasonal Service

Service resumes in many markets including the following: Atlanta – Cincinnati, Cleveland – Phoenix, Cincinnati – Phoenix and Phoenix – Salt Lake City.

United Airlines (Chicago) on May 5, 2016 will add a new daily route from its San Francisco hub. The SFO – Nashville route will be added with Airbus A319 aircraft per Airline Route.

Spirit Airlines to start two new routes from Philadelphia

Spirit Airlines (Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood) starting on April 29, 2016, will begin new nonstop service from the Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) to the Detroit Metropolitan Airport (DTW) and the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL).

This announcement follows Spirit’s recent announcement of nonstop service between PHL and the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), also starting in April 2016. With these additions, Spirit will operate nonstop service from Philadelphia to 8 cities, including Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas/Fort Worth, Detroit (starting 4/29/2016), Fort Lauderdale (starting 4/29/2016), Las Vegas, Los Angeles (starting 4/14/2016), and Myrtle Beach.

Air Canada rouge to serve Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island

Air Canada (Montreal) has announced that its leisure carrier subsidiary, Air Canada rouge™, is expanding in Eastern Canada by operating twice daily seasonal nonstop service between Toronto and Charlottetown beginning May 2, 2016. The new route will be flown with Airbus A319 aircraft.

In the summer of 2016, Air Canada rouge and Air Canada Express will operate up to 69 scheduled nonstop flights each week from Charlottetown to four destinations across Canada:

  • Air Canada offers twice daily summer service to Toronto between May 2 and October 23, 2016 operated by Air Canada rouge with 136-seat Airbus A319 aircraft featuring premium and economy cabins.
  • For winter 2016/17, service will return to three daily Air Canada Express flights with the 50-seat Bombardier CRJ jet aircraft operated by Air Georgian
  • Up to three daily nonstop Air Canada Express flights to Montreal with a mix of 74-seat Bombardier Q400 Next Generation aircraft offering all-leather seating and 50-seat Bombardier CRJ aircraft operated by Jazz Aviation LP
  • One daily nonstop flight to Ottawa with Air Canada Express 50-seat Bombardier CRJ jet aircraft operated by Jazz Aviation LP
  • Four daily flights to Halifax using Air Canada Express 18-seat Beech 1900D aircraft operated by Exploits Valley Air Services, Ltd. (EVAS)

Spirit Airlines to add two more routes from Atlanta

Spirit Airlines (Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood) announced today it will add two new cites to its nonstop service options from the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL). The daily service starts on April 14, 2016 between ATL and Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) and Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY).

With these additions, Spirit operates nonstop service from Atlanta to 17 cities, including Atlantic City, Baltimore/Washington DC, Boston, Chicago, Cleveland, Dallas/Fort Worth, Detroit, Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood, Fort Myers, Houston (Bush Intercontinental), Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Minneapolis-St. Paul (starting 4/14/2016), New Orleans (starting 4/14/2016), Orlando, Philadelphia, and Tampa.

Delta to restore the Salt Lake City – Toronto route

Delta Air Lines (Atlanta) will resume the Salt Lake City – Toronto (Pearson) route on May 27, 2016. The dormant route with will be operated daily with Airbus A319s per Airline Route.
