Air Canada to launch Regina-Ottawa nonstop service
Air Canada (Montreal) has announced that beginning May 17, 2010, it will launch the only non-stop daily flights linking Regina and Ottawa with same plane service to/from Montreal.
Flights will be operated by Air Canada’s regional partner Air Canada Jazz )Jazz Air) (Halifax) with 75-seat Bombardier CRJ705 jet aircraft offering a choice of Executive and Economy class.
Air Canada Jazz orders 15 Bombardier Q400 aircraft
Air Canada Jazz (Halifax) (Jazz Air LP) announced that it has signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with Bombardier Commercial Aircraft subject to the satisfaction of customary conditions, to finalize a binding purchase agreement for a firm order of 15 DHC-8-400 (Q400) NextGen aircraft with options for an additional 15 aircraft.
Aircraft deliveries are planned to commence in May 2011. The aircraft will accommodate 74 passengers, and will be configured with a single cabin.

Air Canada Jazz (Halifax) Bombardier CRJ200 had a near miss at Saskatoon on Sunday (January 17) when a small Cessna flew into its departure path.

Jazz Air drops Porter lawsuit, plans return
Jazz Air (Air Canada Jazz) (Halifax) has dropped its lawsuit against Porter Airlines but it is continuing to pursue its legal action in the federal courts against the Toronto Port Authority for equal access to Toronto City Centre Airport where Porter holds an exclusive access agreement. Jazz is planning to return to the airport in 2010.

Air Canada to link Montreal with Houston
Air Canada (Montreal) will link its Montreal (Trudeau) hub with new Star Alliance partner Continental Airlines’ (Houston) Houston (Bush Intercontinental) hub starting on November 30. The new route will be assigned to Bombardier CRJ705s operated by Air Canada Jazz.

In other news, AC will inaugurate a new route between Montreal (Trudeau) and Brussels on June 12, 2010 with Boeing 767-300 ERs. The flight will originate in Toronto (Pearson).
