FedEx Corporation reports 2Q net profit of $345 million, down 30%

FedEx Corporation (FedEx Express) (Memphis) reported net income of $345 million in the fiscal second quarter ending on November 30. This represents a decline of 30 percent compared with the same period a year ago.

FedEx Express takes delivery of first Boeing 777F

FedEx Express (Memphis) yesterday (September 22) took delivery of its first Boeing 777F freighter (777-FS2, N850FD, msn 37721). The 777F will fly between the United States and Asia. The 777F will be capable of flying 5,800 nautical miles, 2,100 nm further than the McDonnell Douglas MD-11F it will replace.

FedEx Express to park 10 A310-200Fs/4 MD-10Fs

FedEx Express (FedEx Corporation) (Memphis) is planning to park 10 Airbus A310-200F freighters and four McDonnell Douglas MD-10F freighters by the end of May according to a federally-required filing.

FedEx Express (Memphis) on April 6 retired its last unconverted McDonnell Douglas DC-10. DC-10-30F N315FE (msn 48313) was the last to be retired. The company has previously converted and upgraded 51 DC-10s to the two-person cockpit crewed MD-10s with the new glass cockpits.

FedEx Express (FedEx Corporation) (Memphis) is threatening to cancel its outstanding Boeing orders if Congress passes a law making it easier for unions to organize according to Reuters. FedEx has 30 new Boeing 777F freighters (777-200LRs) on order besides the 757-200 conversions. Read the full story at:

FedEx Express MD-11 crashes at Tokyo Narita

FedEx Express (Memphis) has lost a McDonnell Douglas MD-11F freighter (N526FE, msn 48600, ex Delta N813DE) on landing in gusty winds at Tokyo (Narita) on Monday, March 23 (Tokyo time) (March 22 U.S. time). The aircraft, operating as flight FX 80 from Guangzhou, crashed in a fiery crash and is totally destroyed. Video shows the aircraft bounced at least twice, veered to the left and flipped on its side before bursting into flames. Unfortunately the two crew members died in the crash.ย
