Hawaiian Airlines is coming to New York

Hawaiian Airlines (Honolulu) has announced it is launching daily nonstop service between New York City ‘s John F. Kennedy International Airport and Honolulu starting on June 4, 2012.

Starting on June 5, 2012 , Hawaiian flight HA 51 will depart JFK daily at 10:00 a.m. (1000) and arrive at Honolulu International Airport at 3:00 p.m. (1500).

The new route will be inaugurated from Honolulu the day before on June 4, with the departure of Flight HA 50 (“Hawaiian 5-0”). Flight HA 50 will depart Honolulu daily at 3:05 p.m. (1505) and arrive in New York City (JFK) at 6:55 a.m. (0655) the following morning.

Hawaiian will operate its New York – Honolulu route using its growing fleet of new Airbus A330-200 aircraft that seat 294 passengers, with 18 seats in First Class and the remainder in Economy Class.

S7 Airlines to add two new routes to Italy

S7 Airlines (Moscow) has announced new flights from Moscow to Turin and Bergamo in Italy.

The flights from Moscow (Domodedovo) to Turin will be operated during the New Year holidays from December 30, 2011 followed by the first flight to Bergamo on January 2, 2012. Beginning on January 7, 2012 the flights will be operated every week on Saturdays with 128-seat A319s.

LAM to drop the twice-weekly Maputo-Lisbon route on November 23

LAM-Linhasย Aรฉreas de Moรงambique (Maputo) has announced it will drop the twice-weekly Maputo-Lisbon route on November 23 as it seeks to operate its own aircraft on the route despite an European Commission ban on carriers from Mozambique. For now, LAM will code-share with TAP Portugal (Lisbon) on the route. The route was operated by euroAtlantic Airways for LAM under a wet lease agreement.

Air Moldova to operate an Embraer ERJ 190 for RAK Airways

Air Moldova (Chisinau) has painted this Embraer ERJ 190 in RAK Airways (Ras Al Khaimah)ย colors and is planning to operate the airliner for the Gulf carrier. Previously Air Moldova has operated an Airbus A320 for RAK Airways. This is a new type for the carrier from the United Arab Emirates.

Norwegian opens a new base at Torp Airport

Norwegian Air Shuttle (Norwegian.com) (Oslo) has announced it will open a new base at Sandefjord Airport, Torp, located south of Oslo in Norway. Three new domestic routes and five international routes will be developed from Torp.

Starting in late March 2012 Norwegian will base a Boeing 737-800 at Torp. Norwegian will begin flights to Antalya, Berlin, Bergen, Las Palmas, Palma de Mallorca, Nice and Trondheim from Torp.

Sky Work Airlines to add Lugano

Sky Work Airlines (Bern) will add Lugano in Switzerland and the Bern-Lugano route next summer. The new route will be served twice-daily during the week with Dornier 328-100s.

EasyJet’s full-year profit jumps 61% to $248 million

EasyJet (easyJet.com) (UK) (London-Luton) reported its full-year profit before taxes increased 61 percent to $336 million. The company is also considering offering for a fee assigned seating.

Petroleum Air Services orders its first Bombardier CRJ900

Petroleum Air Services (PAS) (Cairo) has signed a firm contract to acquire oneย Bombardier CRJ900 NextGenย regional jet. The transaction also includes an option for anotherย CRJ900 NextGenย airliner. PASโ€™sย CRJ900 NextGenย aircraft will be the firstย CRJย Series aircraft to operate in Egypt.

Established in 1982, PAS operates helicopter and fixed wing charter and air-taxi services primarily for the petroleum industry. Surplus hours are used by tour operators within Egypt and to international destinations within the region. Its current fleet includes fourย de Havilland Canada DHC-7 Dash 7ย aircraft and fiveย Bombardier DHC-8-300 (Q300)ย turboprops.

Atlasjet signs LOI for 10 Bombardier CS300 jetliners

Atlasjet Airlines (Atlasjet Havacilik A.S.) (Istanbul) has signed a letter of intent (LOI) to acquire 10ย CS300ย jetliners and take options on a further fiveย CS300ย aircraft.

Founded in 2001, Atlasjet operates 17 aircraft on domestic and international routes with scheduled and charter services. Atlasjet is operated and managed by Ersoy Turistik Servisleri (ETS), a conglomerate of travel companies with tourism offices across Turkey. Atlasjet operates domestic scheduled passenger services and regular charter flights to cities across Europe, Kazakhstan, Iraq and Saudi Arabia. Operating from its main base at Atatรผrk International Airport, Istanbul, the airline also has hubs at Adnan Menderes Airport, Izmir and Antalya Airport.
