US Airways (Phoenix) yesterday (December 17) launched a new nonstop spoke route from the Charlotte hub, this time to Honolulu. The new route is assigned to the Boeing 767-200 ERs. However yesterday’s flight (and probably today) was forced to make a fuel stop at Los Angeles on the westbound leg due to the heavy easterlies.

Bellview Airlines suspends operations
Bellview Airlines (Lagos) has suspended its regional operations following the suspension of its London Heathrow services (the company was planning to restore LOS-LHR on November 1). Further complicating matters, IATA has now suspended its B3 code and advised all travel agents not to book on the carrier.
Bellview started as an IATA approved travel agency in Lagos, Nigeria in 1989 and participated in the repatriation ofย South African exiles funded by Australia care for refuge (AUSTCARE) between 1990-1991.ย Two years later, it leased a 30-seat Yak-40 and commenced charter operations on October 1, 1992. In 1993 the company commenced scheduled passenger services within Nigeria using a DC-9-32 series aircraft leased directly from the McDonnell Douglas.
Vision Airlines adds its first Boeing 767-200
Vision Airlines (USA) (North Las Vegas) has added its first wide body. Ex-KrasAir Boeing 767-2Q8 N766VA (msn 24448, ex EI-DMP) was leased from ILFC on August 20, 2009. It is now fully painted at Miami. Vision Airlines has been very active lately flying charter flights to Cuba.

Bellview passengers riot after flight is delayed

Bellview Airlines (Lagos) had an incident yesterday (September 3) in Lagos when security forces were deployed to quell a riot from stranded passengers of a very delayed Bellview flight. The passengers had been waiting for their flight since Monday according to local media reports!
