Jet2 adds two new destinations for its expanding summer schedule

Jet2 (Jet2.com) and Jet2holidays (Leeds-Bradford) has added two new routes to its ever expanding summer of 2016 program, announcing new routes to Girona (Costa Brava), Spain from Glasgow, Manchester and Newcastle and Naples, Italy from Edinburgh and Manchester.

In addition to the two brand new destinations, Jet2.com is also launching Krakow as a new route from Manchester Airport. The twice-weekly flights will commence on April 28, 2016.

Jet2 announces an expansion at Edinburgh Airport

Jet2 (Jet2.com) (Leeds/Bradford) has announced a major expansion at Edinburgh Airport with 12 new destinations for the summer season of 2016.

The 12 new destinations include Antalya, Crete, Dalaman, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, Paphos, Rhodes and Tenerife plus exclusive routes to Kefalonia, Larnaca, Vienna and Zante.

The carrier will start flying to the three new Canary Island destinations in February 2016. The airline will add a fifth based aircraft at EDI, a Boeing 737-800.

Austria:

Vienna – twice weekly (Monday & Friday) starting on April 29, 2016.

Canary Islands:

Gran Canaria – weekly (Monday) starting on February 15, 2016.
Lanzarote – twice weekly (Thursday & Sunday) starting on February 14, 2016.
Tenerife – twice weekly (Tuesday & Saturday) starting on February 12, 2016.

Greece

Crete (Heraklion) – twice weekly (Monday & Friday) starting on May 27, 2016.
Kefalonia – weekly (Wednesday) starting on May 25, 2016.
Rhodes – weekly (Saturday) starting on June 25, 2016.

Jet2 to add leased Airbus A320s and A330s for routes from Glasgow and Manchester next summer

Jet2 (Jet2.com) (Leeds/Bradford) will again add leased Airbus A320s on the following routes from Glasgow for the summer 2015 season according to Airline Route: Alicante (May 3), Barcelona (May 7), Faro (May 2), Ibiza (May 22), Mahon (June 23), Malaga (May 24), Murcia (May 22), Palma de Mallorca (May 1) and Rome (Fiumicino) (June 18).

The low-fare airline is also leasing an AirAsia X Airbus A330 for these routes next summer: Bodrum (May 24), Dalaman (May 23), Lanzarote (May 21), Palma de Mallorca (May 22), Paphos (May 20) and Tenerife Sur (May 22).

Jet2 expands at Newcastle and Belfast for the summer of 2015

Jet2.com (Jet2holidays) (Leeds/Bradford) is continuing its growth at Newcastle International Airport with the launch of four brand new destinations for the summer of 2015. The discount airline will launch new routes from NCL to Antalya (Turkey) (weekly, May 22), Larnaca (Cyprus) (weekly May 27), Malta (weekly May 21) and Zante (Zakinthos) (weekly May 27).

The company has also announced a significant expansion plans at Belfast International Airport, including new routes, an additional aircraft plus even more seats for the summer of 2015. The new routes include Prague and Rome and the sunshine hotspots of Gran Canaria and Zante.

Jet2 (Jet2.com) (Leeds/Bradford) will open two weekly winter seasonal routes from December 20, 2014 through April 11, 2015 per Airline Route; Edinburgh-Geneva and Manchester-Turin (both ski destinations).

Jet 2 tries airline route marketing with free ice cream cones, will fly to Boston, New York and Toronto

Jet2 (Jet2.com) (Leeds/Bradford) is trying a different approach to promoting its new airline routes. The airline is promoting its new flights to Gran Canaria with the “Gran Canaria Ice-Cream Van” offering free ice cream and a chance to win free tickets to the island. The van is visiting Glasgow, Manchester, Leeds and Newcastle.

In other news, the airline is planning to offer charter flights from Leeds/Bradford, Newcastle and Glasgow to Boston, New York (JFK) and Toronto (Pearson).

Jet2 (Jet2.com) (East Midlands) will add a new route from its East Midlands base to Paris (CDG) starting on April 3, 2014 according to Airline Route. The new route four days a week with Boeing 737-300s.

Jet2 adds weekly East Midlands-Gran Canaria flights

Jet2 (Jet2.com) (East Midlands) on July 15 added weekly service between its East Midlands base and Gran Canaria in the Canary Islands. Jet2 now serves Gran Canaria from Glasgow, Manchester, Leeds/Bradford, Newcastle and now East Midlands.
