Lufthansa to offer two more routes from Munich to the Canary Islands

Lufthansa (Frankfurt) will offer new weekly service from its Munich hub to Fuerteventura starting on Saturday October 25, before the start of the autumn holidays in Bavaria, while flights to Tenerife will be offered from Sunday October 31.

Both destinations will be served by an Airbus A321 with 200 seats in a two-class configuration.

Lufthansa is also resuming flights to Las Palmas, the capital of Gran Canaria, next winter.

Lufthansa to add two new routes from Munich to the Canary Islands

Lufthansa (Frankfurt) will add new weekly service from its Munich hub to both Lanzarote and Tenerife Sur for the winter 2015/2016 season. The two routes will be operated with Airbus A321s according to Airline Route.

Lufthansa resumes Munich-Miami service

Lufthansa (Frankfurt) is resuming flights to Florida from its Munich hub. Starting today (December 2), the airline will operate five flights a week to the Sunshine State in addition to its daily Airbus A380 service from Frankfurt.

During the winter months, Miami will be served by LH flight 460, which will be operated with an Airbus A330-300 in the new First, Business and Economy Class layout, which can accommodate 217 passengers.

Lufthansa cancels its contract with Augsburg Airways, will launch Munich-Vancouver flights on May 16

Lufthansa (Frankfurt) has cancelled the regional feeder contract with the Augsburg Airways (Munich) effective on October 26, 2013.

The five Embraer ERJ 190-200s (ERJ 195s) assigned to Augsburg will be transferred to CityLine also on October 26, 2013.

The company was established in 1980 as Interot Airways. Revenue operations commenced in 1986. In 1996 the airline became Augsburg Airways. In 2003 Augsburg started operating as an Lufthansa Regional carrier. It was the last independent feeder operating for LH.

In other news, Lufthansa is expanding its long-haul services from its Munich hub and next year, for the first time, will offer a nonstop flight from Munich to Vancouver. From May 16, 2013, the new route to the largest city in British Columbia will be served daily with an Airbus A330. The service will complement Lufthansa’s daily flights from Frankfurt.

Lufthansa CityLine to retire the last BAe RJ85 on August 27

Lufthansa CityLine (Cologne/Bonn) will operate the last BAe (Avro) RJ85 revenue flight on August 27 per Airline Route. The historic last flight will be a roundtrip from Munich to Cologne and back. CityLine has operated the type since 1994.
