Nok Air’s managers gain greater control of the airline

Nok Air’s (Bangkok) management is gaining greater control of the airline. Nok Air Management Company (NAM) has been established by the five top executives of the airline led by CEO Patee Sarasin. NAM has reached an agreement to acquire a 25% interest in Nok Air from Dhipaya Insurance Plc (10%), the Government Pension Fund (10%) and Thailand Prosperity Fund managed by ING Funds (Thailand) Co (5%) according to this article by the Bangkok Post.

Thai Airways International hopes to raise its share in Nok Air to 49%

Thai Airways International (Bangkok) which currently owns 39% of low-fare and flamboyant Nok Air (Bangkok), is attempting to purchase Krung Thai Bankโ€™s 10% stake in order to have better control over the low-fare airline according to Aviation Week.

Nok Air to add 14 aircraft

Nok Air (Bangkok) is planning to add and lease four Boeing 737-400s, four ATR 72s and six newer Boeing 737-800s according to this article in the Bangkok Post.

Thai Airways International to turn over three domestic routes to Nok Air

Thai Airways International (Bangkok) is ending its estranged relationship with Nok Air (Bangkok) and will turn over three domestic routes to the low-cost carrier on March 1, 2010. Thai owns 39 percent of the Nok shares.
