SunExpress to expand operations at Izmir, Turkey

SunExpress Airlines (Antalya)ย will add new flights from itsย Izmirย hub to Copenhagen, Helsinki, Lyon, Nantes and Paris (Charles de Gaulle) in April 2014. SunExpress will fly 200 flights a week from Izmir International Airport to 26 destinations in Europe, mainly in Germany, Switzerland and Austria (see map below).

The airline is also expanding operations next summer at Gazipasa Airport (GZP) in the Antalya Province of Turkey according to Haber Alanya. The Turkish carrier will offer flights to Cologne, Munich and Stuttgart through its German subsidiary.

SunExpress is a joint venture between Turkish Airlines (50 percent) and Lufthansa (50 percent).

SunExpress to expand operation at Izmir next summer

SunExpress Airlines (Antalya) will add four new destinations from Izmir this coming summer. Bremen (April 3), Hahn (July 4), Oslo (May 2) and Stockholm (April 28) will be added bringing to 35 the number of destinations from IZmir.

SunExpress Germany to commence a new route to Casablanca

SunExpress Airlines (Germany) (Frankfurt) will launch a new route from Frankfurt to Casablanca (Morocco) starting on October 28, 2012 per Airline Route. The new route will be operated three days a week.

SunExpress Airlines’ revenues are up 44% in the first half

SunExpress Airlines (Antalya) reported revenues grew by 44% in the first half.

The Turkish airline also reported its new Germany subsidiary (SunExpress Germany) launched operations on June 8, 2011 and intends to acquire three additional Boeing 737-800s.

SunExpress Airlines (Antalya) has introduced this special color scheme named “Impressions of Istanbul” on its Boeing 737-8HZ registered TC-SUZ (msn 29649).

SunExpress Airlines (Antalya) has been identified as the unidentified customer that has ordered six Boeing 737-800s with Blended Winglets. The airline currently operates 15 737-800s.

SunExpress Airlines (Antalya) is getting ready to celebrate its upcoming 20th Anniversary with this special “20 Years” blue sticker as seen on Boeing 737-8CX TC-SUJ (msn 32368) at night at Nuremberg. The company was originally formed in October 1989 as a joint venture between Turkish Airlines and Lufthansa. The company commenced operations in April of 1990.
