Bangkok Air to start the Koh Samui-Kuala Lumpur route

Bangkok Air (Bangkok) will start the Koh Samui-Kuala Lumpur route on March 31 per Airline Route.

Koh Samui or often, simply Samui as it is referred to by locals, is an island off the east coast of the Kra Isthmus in Thailand, close to the mainland Surat Thani town and in Surat Thani Province. It is Thailand’s third largest island after Ko Chang and Phuket.

Bangkok Air adds Bangalore, its second destination in India

Bangkok Air (Bangkok Airways) (Bangkok) added a new route to Bangalore. The new route from Bangkok will be served five times a week. This is the second destination in India.

Bangkok Air cancels its order for four Airbus A350-800s, drops long-range plans

Bangkok Air (Bangkok Airways) has cancelled its order for four long-range Airbus A350-800s and shelved its plans to operate long-range flights.

Route Map: Bangkok Air will now concentrate on its Asian network.

Bangkok Air’s (Bangkok) Airbus A319-132 HS-PGS (msn 3142) arrived at Southend with the new registration marks of M-ABCL from the Isle of Man. The airliner is due to go to a new operator.

Bangkok Air ATR 72 runs off Koh Samui runway

Bangkok Air (Bangkok) lost its ATR 72-212A (ATR 72-500) HS-PGL (msn 670) in an accident today (August 4) on the resort island of Koh Samui in Thailand. At least one person is dead (the captain) and seven others are injured. The ATR was landing in a rain storm after arriving from Krabi. The airliner ran off the runway crashing into an old (unmanned) control tower.

Siem Reap Air (subsidiary of Bangkok Air) (Phnom Penh) remains grounded as a result of still being blacklisted by the European Union. The EU has not lifted the ban on the Cambodian airline. The carrier suspended operations on November 24, 2008.
