OpenSkies adjusts its Washington Dulles departure time

OpenSkies (Paris-Orly) announced that flights from Washington-Dulles to Paris-Orly will now operate a later departure time at 7:30 p.m. (1930) (ET). This change will take effect beginning October 31.

Previously, OpenSkies’ five weekly direct flights from Washington to Paris departed at 5:45 p.m. (1745) (ET) and arrived in Paris at 7:40 a.m. (0740) (CET). The new departure time will arrive in Paris at 8:10 a.m. (0810) (CET).

Departure times for flights traveling west-bound from Paris-Orly to Dulles will continue operating on the current schedule. All five weekly flights depart at 12:00 p.m. (1200) (CET) and arrive at Washington-Dulles at 4:00 p.m. (1600) (ET).

OpenSkies offers a money-back guarantee

OpenSkies (British Airways) (Paris-Orly), the all business-class airline operating transatlantic flights, today launched its “OpenSkies Satisfaction Guarantee” program offering customers the opportunity to fly the airline and receive reimbursement if not satisfied with the experience โ€“ an unprecedented offer in the airline sector.

According to the airline, the launch of this unique program, in effect today, Wednesday, September 8, 2010 through November 30, 2010, follows a survey conducted by OpenSkies in June 2010, which reveals that of the 4,250 people polled, 96.85 percent of passengers would recommend OpenSkies.

OpenSkies currently flies from Newark and Washington (Dulles) to Paris (Orly).

OpenSkies (British Airways) to start Paris (Orly)-Washington (Dulles) service

OpenSkies (British Airways) (Paris-Orly) will launch Paris (Orly)-Washington (Dulles) scheduled service starting on May 3.

British Airways elects to hold on to OpenSkies for now

British Airways (London) has rejected the bids it received for its OpenSkies subsidiary and decided to keep it for now according to the Wall Street Journal.

L’Avion (Paris-Orly) yesterday (April 4) was officially merged into OpenSkies (London) (British Airways) even though F-HAVN still remains to be painted in OpenSkies colors. The division flies from Orly to both JFK and Newark in the New York area.

British Airways sells 11 Boeing 757-200s

British Airways (London) has sold its 11 remaining Boeing 757-200s for freighter conversion. The type will be phased out in 2012. This sale does not affect the four 757s assigned to OpenSkies.

L’Avion (Elysair dba) (OpenSkies) (subsidiary of British Airways) (Paris-Orly) is slowly slipping into the sunset. One example is the repainting of its Boeing 757-26D F-HAVI (msn 24473). ย After repainting at London (Heathrow), F-HAVI ferried back to Paris (Orly) on March 19. The airliner is now painted in full OpenSkies colors with a few subtle differences besides the French registration.
