TUIfly to introduce a new Haribo logojet, named “Haribo Tropifrutti”

TUIfly (TUIfly.com) (Hannover) is planning to introduce a new Haribo logojet.

According to the Haribo website, there will be a new logojet named “Haribo Tropifrutti”. You can also win a free trip to New York via Newark Airport on this airplane together with Thomas Gottschalk (the most popular showmaster in Germany and currently the “face” of Haribo commercials), starting on April 25 which is also the first flight of this new logojet. The routing will be Cologne/Bonn – Keflavik – Newark.

Haribo (Bonn) is a German candy company, founded in 1920 by Johannes (“Hans”) Riegel, Sr.

The Haribo name is formed fromย Hans Riegel, Bonn.

This will be the third TUIfly Haribo logojet.

TUI to cut costs and services at TUIfly, TUIfly to drop its yellow airplanes

TUIfly‘s (Hannover) parent, TUI AG (TUI Group) wants to cut costs at the German airline subsidiary by 65 million euros ($88.9 million) each year by cutting back on free services for passengers and lowering staff costs according to theย daily Sueddeutsche Zeitung and this report by Reuters.

The new cost savings program is called “Max Thrust”. TUIfly will expand the fleet by four new aircraft for medium-haul flights and two planes for long-haul operations according to the report.

Tuifly plans to divide its cabin into three classes from May and stop offering free newspapers, inflight entertainment and blankets according to the report.

TUIfly to add long-haul Caribbean routes from Hamburg

TUIfly (TUIfly.com) (Hannover) will launch new long-haul leisure routes from Hamburg in November to the Caribbean. According to Airline Route, twice-weekly flights will be started to Barbados on November 22, Cancun on November 2, La Romana on November 29 and Punta Cana on November 1. The four new routes will be flown by TUI partner airline Arkefly (Amsterdam) Boeing 767-300s.

TUI Travel commits for 60 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft

Boeing (Chicago) and TUI Travel PLC (London) announced a commitment today for 60 737 MAX airplanes, valued at $6.09 billion at list prices. The commitment by one of the worldโ€™s leading leisure travel groups includes 737 MAX 8s and 9s. Boeing looks forward to working with TUI Travel to finalize the details, at which time the order will be posted as a firm order to the Boeing Orders and Deliveries website.

โ€œA major part of TUI Travelโ€™s strategy is to provide our customers with unique holiday experiences that they can only get from us,โ€ said Peter Long, Chief Executive, TUI Travel. “This multi-billion pound investment in the Boeing 737 MAX โ€“ representing the future generation of more fuel-efficient aircraft for our short and medium-haul programs – will be a further driver in delivering this.โ€

The TUI Travel airlines are Arkefly (Netherlands), Corsair International (France), Jetairfly (Belgium), Thomson Airways (UK), TUIfly (Germany) and TUIfly Nordic (Sweden). This graph shows TUI Travels’ brands and market shares in these key European markets:

TUIfly’s Boeing 737-8K5 D-AHFZ now promotes CEWE Photobooks

TUIfly (TUIfly.com) (Hannover) has always embraced the use of logojets as a way to increase revenue.

The latest logojet has just been painted at Dublin. The pictured Boeing 737-8K5 D-AHFZ (msn 30983) (above) is now promoting the CEWE Photobooks (Mein CEWE Fotobuch) (CEWE.de). The German company specializes in photo products including photobooks.

This aircraft was previously painted in this attractive blue ARD German TV lottery special livery (below) before being repainted in this red design.

TUIfly helps to celebrate 100 years of the “Baren Marke” milk with this new logojet

TUIfly (TUIfly.com) (Hannover) introduced this month this special logojet to help celebrate 100 years (1912-2012) of “Baren Marke” (Bear Brand) of milk products in Germany. The bear became the symbol of the brand due to its Canton of Bern (Switzerland) roots developed by hotelierย Cesar Ritz. “Baren Marke” is one of most well known product brands in Germany.

TUIfly introduces a new railroad logojet

TUIfly (TUIfly.com) (Hannover) today (January 20) rolled out of the paint shop at Maastricht this new promotional logojet. Boeing 737-8K5 D-ATUE (msn 34686) isย advertising the German railroad company Deutsche Bahn named “DB ICE Im Zug Zum Flug” (Inย DBย ICEย train to the plane).

Deutsche Bahn AG (DB AG,ย DBAG orย DB) (Berlin) is theย German nationalย railway company, a private joint stock company (AG). DBย was established in 1994 as the successor to the former stateย railways ofย Germany, theย Deutsche Bundesbahn ofย West Germany and theย Deutsche Reichsbahn ofย East Germany.

In association withย American Airlines,ย Emirates Airline,ย China Airlines, andย Lufthansa,ย Deutsche Bahn operates theย AiRail Service betweenย Frankfurt International airport and Cologne/Bonn, Dusseldorf, Freiburg, Hamburg, Hanover, Mannheim and Stuttgart. DB uses the IATA designator of 2A.

DB describes itself as the second-largest transport company in the world afterย Deutsche Post AG and is the largest railway operator and infrastructure owner in Europe. About two billion passengers are carried each year.

TUIfly takes delivery of its first Boeing 737-800 Sky Interior

TUIfly (TUIfly.com) (Hannover) on December 9 celebrated the delivery of the airlineโ€™s first Next-Generation 737-800 (737-8K5 D-ATUA, msn 37245) with the all-new Boeing Sky Interior.

TUIfly, which offers scheduled flights and charter services from cities in Germany to destinations in Europe and Northern Africa, has scheduled this airplaneโ€™s first passenger flight on December 15 from Hannover to Las Palmas on the Canary Islands.

The 737 Boeing Sky Interior features new, modern-sculpted sidewalls and window reveals, larger stow bins and more headroom around the aisle seats. Other features include a quieter cabin, intuitive placement of switches and call buttons, improved sound quality and different interior lighting schemes. Boeing designed this series of enhancements to improve the overall travel experience for passengers, making the cabin more spacious and comfortable.
