SAS and Apollo extend partnership in record contract

Scandinavian Airlines-SAS made this announcement:

SAS and Apollo are expanding their partnership regarding charter flights in a contract which covers three summer and three winter seasons through to 2024, with an option for an extension of a further two years to 2026. The partnership with Apollo represents SASโ€™ largest contract with a charter operator and is worth around SEK 3.4 billion over the first three years.

The contract means SAS remains the main partner for Apolloโ€™s charter flights from Scandinavia for the duration of the contract. SAS will fly Apollo customers to and from 24 locations across Sweden, Denmark and Norway to 51 destinations around Europe. Apollo will also become SASโ€™ largest partner on the charter side.

Many of the charter flights will be flown using the brand-new Airbus A320 aircraft, with SASโ€™ new design both inside the cabins and outside. In recent years, SAS has renewed its fleet and replaced older aircraft with newer designs with more fuel-efficient engines, thereby also cutting its carbon dioxide emissions.

โ€œHere at Apollo, we see a bright future and weโ€™re convinced that travel will start to pick up again soon. It therefore feels like a very positive step forward to have signed a contract with SAS which will secure our partnership for the coming years. SASโ€™ focus on sustainable travel, reliable deliveries and many weekend departures means that Apollo can safely focus on doing what we do best: creating the very best holiday experiences for our customers,โ€ says Leif Vase Larsen, CEO Northern Europe at DER Touristik Nordic AB.

SAS and Apollo renew partnership agreement

Scandinavian Airlines-SAS made this announcement:

SAS and tour operator Apollo are extending their partnership for the 2020 summer and winter season.ย The agreement is worth around SEK 1.4 billion for charter flights within Europe. SAS will fly Apollo customers to and from 23 locations in Sweden, Denmark and Norway to 26 destinations around Europe.

Apollo has once again chosen to extend its agreement with SAS as its main partner for its charter flights from Scandinavia in summer and winter 2020.

โ€œWe are absolutely delighted with the agreement and our longstanding partnership with Apollo. Tour operator partnerships are an important part of our strategy to seasonally adjust our capacity. SAS is now continuing to phase new and more sustainable aircraft into our fleet, and we are upgrading both cabins and the exterior of the aircraft in line with the new SAS design.ย We are very proud to continue to welcome Apollo customers onboard,โ€ says Markus Ek, Vice President Global Sales at SAS.

The SAS airline fleet enables Apollo to offer direct flights from both big city and regional airports in Sweden, Norway and Denmark. SAS is Apolloโ€™s largest external partner other than its own airline, Novair.

โ€œFor Apollo, itโ€™s natural to extend the partnership with SAS. A Scandinavian company that is a secure and solid partner for Apollo and that puts great emphasis on sustainable travel. Our customers appreciate the service and reliability that SAS offers with direct flights to our destinations,โ€ says Leif Vase Larsen, Nordic CEO of DER Touristik Nordic AB.

The agreement between SAS and Apollo covers fights from 23 locations in Scandinavia to 26 destinations in Europe.
