SMBC Aviation Capital has boosted its total order book for the Airbus A320neo Family to 181 aircraft after signing a firm order for an additional 65 A320neo Family aircraft (15 A321neo and 50 A320neo). The order was finalized in 2018 and included in the year-end order figures.
In addition the agreement includes an upsizing of 15 A320neo from a pre-existing order to 15 of the largest member of the single aisle, the A321neos, taking SMBC Aviation Capital’s total for the type to 30.
The order for 65 is in addition to an earlier agreement for six A320neo made in March, bringing the total number of A320neo Family ordered in 2018 to 71.

SMBC Aviation Capital has announced that it has concluded a three Airbus A320neo aircraft deal with Air Astana, the national flag carrier of Kazakhstan. This is a new customer for SMBC Aviation Capital and the aircraft will be provided from the company’s order book of 110 A320neo aircraft with Airbus.
The A320neo will be fitted with Pratt and Whitney GTF engines and will have delivery slots in the last quarter of 2019 and the first quarter of 2020.
Air Astana is the first operator of this type of aircraft in the Central Asian region and has plans to grow its neo fleet to 17 aircraft by 2020.

Boeing (Chicago, Seattle and Charleston) and SMBC Aviation Capital (Dublin), one of the world’s largest aircraft lessors, announced an order for 10 737 MAX 8s today at the Paris Air Show. This deal adds to a 2014 order placed by the lessor for 80 737 MAX 8s for a total of 90 on order.
Boeing has been doing business in Japan for more than 60 years, during which time it has built close and enduring partnerships with Japanese customers and industry partners. Japanese customers have purchased over 1,000 Boeing airplanes and Japan’s aerospace companies make a significant contribution to all Boeing commercial airplane programs: the 737, 747-8, 777 and 787, and now the 737 MAX and 777X.
SMBC Aviation Capital has a modern fleet of over 370 owned and managed aircraft valued at more than $10.5 billion, which includes 180 Boeing airplanes. Boeing (Chicago and Seattle) and SMBC Aviation Capital (Dublin) have announced an order for 80 737 MAX 8s, valued at more than $8.5 billion at list prices. This is the largest single order for 737 MAXs from a leasing company and will help SMBC Aviation Capital grow its portfolio of high-demand, fuel-efficient airplanes.
With this agreement SMBC Aviation Capital becomes the 50th 737 MAX customer and grows the program’s order book to more than 2,400 airplanes.

SMBC Aviation Capital has signed a major firm order for 115 A320 Family aircraft (110 A320neo, five A320ceo). The contract was announced today at the Farnborough International Airshow 2014, by Peter Barrett, SMBC Aviation Capital, CEO, Fabrice Brégier, Airbus President & CEO and John Leahy, Airbus Chief Operating Officer, Customers.
This new order is the industry’s largest ever single firm order by a worldwide leasing company for single-aisle aircraft. With these new planes, SMBC Aviation Capital’s total orders for Airbus aircraft rise to 206 A320 Family aircraft. SMBC Aviation Capital will announce its engines selection at a later date.
At the end of June 2014, firm orders for the NEO reached over 2,800 aircraft from 55 customers, representing a 60 per cent market share in its category.
