Hong Kong Airlines (Hong Kong) according to this Reuters report was set to announce an order for 10 Airbus A380s at the Paris Air Show. The order was called off on Thursday due to China’s displeasure with the European Union’s plans to charge airlines for emissions.
Still to be confirmed, Hainan Airlines is believed to be the unidentified carrier that has ordered 15 new Boeing 747-800 Intercontinentals.

On the financial side, the company reported a net profit of $42 million in the first quarter.
The operational bases of Hainan Airlines are Beijing and Haikou, while other operational bases are Xiโan, Urumqi, Taiyuan, Ningbo, Shenzhen and Guangzhou. Hainan Airlinesโ current network covers approximately 100 destinations around the world with over 500 flights per week.

Grand China Express (subsidiary of HNA Group) on June 10, 2009 was relaunched as Tianjin Airlines (Tianjin) with new Embraer ERJ 190s. 20 daily flights are operated. The first flight departed at 0810 for Guiyang and Xi’an. Tianjin Airlines is a joint venture of the HNA Group, Hainan Airlines and the Tianjin Port Free Trade Zone Investment Company.

Hainan Airline Company Ltd. (HNA Group) has reached agreement with Embraer to reduce its order for 50 50-seat Embraer ERJ 145 regional jets to only 25. So far 12 have been delivered.
