Aeroflot to acquire 11 new Airbus A330-300s

Aeroflot Russian Airlines (Moscow) is moving ahead to order 11 Airbus A330-300s after receiving board approval. The aircraft will be delivered in the 2011 to 2013 period.

Ryanair to cut UK winter operations by 16%

Ryanair (Dublin) plans to cut United Kingdon winter capacity because of the British government’s departure tax and high airport charges, resulting in a loss of 200 Ryanair jobs at Stansted airport according to this report in the WSJ.

Sun Country Airlines to begin Lansing service

Sun Country Airlines (Minneapolis/St. Paul) announced today (June 30) plans for new nonstop domestic and international service from Lansingโ€™s Capital Region International Airport. Beginning December 22, 2010, the company will inaugurate domestic service to Las Vegas, Ft. Myers and Orlando as well as international service to Cancun, Mexico and Montego Bay, Jamaica.

Ryanair reverts to a profit, declares its first dividend

Ryanair (Dublin) will pay its first dividend after reporting a yearly profit because of declining fuel costs. The company reported net income of $370 million for its fiscal year through March 31.
