Allegiant Air to start Moline/Quad Cities-Las Vegas flights

Allegiant Air (Las Vegas) announced new, nonstop jet service between the Moline/Quad Cities, IL, and Las Vegas will begin on October 14. Fares start at $44.99.

Allegiant Air to start Fort Collins-Mesa service

Allegiant Air (Las Vegas) announced new, nonstop jet service between Mesa, AZ (near Phoenix) and Fort Collins-Loveland, CO, will begin on October 8.

The new flights will operate two times weekly between Fort Collins-Loveland Municipal Airport (FNL) and Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport (IWA) with service on Monday and Friday. Flights will depart Fort Collins-Loveland at 11:10 a.m. (1110) arriving in Phoenix-Mesa at 12:05 p.m. (1205). Flights leaving Phoenix-Mesa will depart at 7:40 a.m. (0740) arriving in Fort Collins-Loveland at 10:30 a.m. (1030) (all flight times are local).

Allegiant will utilize 150-seat, DC-9-80 (MD-80) series, jet-aircraft on the route. Allegiant Air began nonstop service to Las Vegas on July 31, 2003 from Fort Collins.

Falcon Air Express (Miami) is operating its ex-Spirit Airlines McDonnell Douglas DC-9-83 (MD-83) N836NK (msn 53045) for Gold Transportation Services (Atlantic City), a tour operator, now with titles.

USA Jet Airlines is operating its first McDonnell Douglas DC-9-83 for DirectAir

USA Jet Airlines (Ypsilanti) acquired its first McDonnell Douglas DC-9-83 (MD-83) on December 31, 2009 when this ex-Alaska Airlines aircraft joined the fleet. N949NS (msn 53022, ex N949AS) is being operated for public charter company DirectAir (Myrtle Beach) in this basic all-white condition minus any titles. DirectAir returned to the golfing and beach destination Myrtle Beach, SC for the season starting on February 4, 2010 with charter service to and from Myrtle Beach. Service to other cities is now ramping up.

Blue Line paints its DC-9-83 F-GMLU for the FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour

Blue Line (Paris-CDG) on January 10 rolled out at Manchester its McDonnell Douglas DC-9-83 (MD-83) registered F-GMLU (msn 49398). The airliner is now painted in the FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour livery for the next phase of the on-going tour.

United Airways starts Dhaka-Kuala Lumpur flights

United Airways (Bangladesh) today (December 21) starts Dhaka-Kuala Lumpur flights with its 155-seat McDonnell Douglas DC-9-83 (MD-83).

United Airways starts twice-weekly service to London (Gatwick)

United Airways (Dhaka) launched twice-weekly service to Gatwick Airport near London on November 21 via Dubai and Istanbul.

Allegiant Air is still making money

Allegiant Air (Allegiant Travel Company) (Las Vegas) is one of a handful of U.S. airlines still making money. The organization reported net income of $13.8 million in the third quarter. This is up from a previous profit of $4.9 million in the same quarter a year ago.
