Lufthansa to add the Frankfurt – Liverpool route

Lufthansa on May 4, 2022 will add a new spoke route from its Frankfurt hub to Liverpool.

Widerรธe is coming to Liverpool

Widerรธe has announced that it is planning to start operating a twice weekly service between Liverpool John Lennon Airport (LJLA) and Bergen in Norway.

The new service will commence on August 17, 2018 with departures on Mondays and Fridays with connections available in Bergen to other Scandinavian cities including Oslo and Helsinki.
Widerรธe will use their 114 seat Embraer E190-E2 jet aircraft on the route, which will be the first time this new generation jet aircraft will have operated to a UK regional airport.
Bergen is Norway’s second largest city and also the gateway to the Fjords, with this new direct service giving passengers across the North West the opportunity to either visit this popular city or the regionโ€™s beautiful fjordal area.

Aer Lingus to add Liverpool service

Aer Lingus (Dublin) will add the Dublin – Liverpool route on October 23. The route will be operated 16 time a week with Airbus A320 aircraft according to Airline Route.

Flybe to operate Liverpool-Amsterdam route, wants to sell seven Embraer 195s

Flybe (Exeter) recently announced that it will operate a new year round service between Liverpool John Lennon Airport (LJLA) and Amsterdam Schiphol Airport starting on September 7. The airline will offer up to three flights a day departing early morning, lunchtime and late afternoons.

Meanwhile the carrier is moving towards an all-turboprop fleet. According to this article by Travel Weekly, “The carrier is to use two of a surplus fleet of E195 jets to start services from Cardiff airport, meaning that โ€œsolutionsโ€ have been found for half the fleet of 14 aircraft as it concentrates on operating a mainly turboprop fleet.

Flybe revealed that it was in โ€œactive discussionsโ€ to find a permanent solution for the remaining seven jets.”

Meanwhile the airline is on track to break even and the revised routes from London City Airport are showing progress according to the article.

Flybe to add Liverpool-Amsterdam service

Flybe (Exeter) hasย announced it will operate a new year round service between Liverpool John Lennon Airport (LJLA) and Amsterdam Schiphol Airport starting on September 7. This will offer up to three flights a day departing early morning, lunchtime and late afternoons.

With the addition of this new route, Flybeโ€™s 2015 Summer schedule features those to the Isle of Man and Belfast City offering a total choice of up to 60 flights a week.
