Southwest is coming to Sarasota-Bradenton, Florida

Southwest Airlines today announced plans to expand its Florida service by adding flights at Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport (SRQ) in first quarter of 2021.

Sarasota-Bradenton will be the carrier’s tenth airport served in the State of Florida and is the tenth airport in a list of new places to join the Southwest route map in the coming eight months as the carrier furthers its reach of friendly policies, iconic Hospitality, and value and comfort. Service details including the initial flight schedule and fares for SarasotaBradenton will be announced soon.

Previously announced Southwest service to Miami begins November 15.

WestJet announces new winter routes to Florida, Mexico and Costa Rica, WestJet Encore to fly to Boston

WestJet (Calgary) has announced it is launching new nonstop service to Florida, Mexico and Costa Rica, as well as adding more than 85 flights across its growing domestic and international network as part of its winter 2015-2016 flight schedule. WestJet’s regional airline, WestJet Encore (Calgary), will also begin service three times a day to Boston, its first U.S. destination.

WestJet will launch new nonstop service between Toronto (Pearson) and West Palm Beach and Toronto (Pearson) and Sarasota/Bradenton, as well as between Toronto (Pearson) and Boston and Halifax and Boston.

The airline will also introduce new service to Mexico between Toronto (Pearson) and Huatulco, Toronto (Pearson) and Merida, and Toronto (Pearson) and Cabo San Lucas, as well as additional service to Costa Rica between Toronto (Pearson) and San Jose (SJO). WestJet already serves Liberia.

Guests flying from the Region of Waterloo International Airport and Charlottetown Airport will see new weekly nonstop flights to Orlando.

WestJet is also increasing service from a number of destinations within Central and Eastern Canada including Toronto (Pearson), Halifax, St. John’s, Deer Lake and Charlottetown, as well as from Toronto (Pearson) to Liberia, Turks and Caicos, Puerto Plata and Punta Cana.

The airline will also add new nonstop flights between Calgary and Florida, Costa Rica and Mexico, and between Vancouver and Orlando.

United Airlines to offer Newark-Sarasota/Bradenton flights this winter and spring

United Airlines (Chicago) will offer seasonal service to Sarasota/Bradenton, Florida (SRQ) this winter and spring from February 12 through May 15 from its Newark hub. The temporary route will be operated with 154-seat Boeing 737-800 aircraft according to News 13. United currently serves SRQ with year-round daily service to Chicago (O’Hare).

Air Canada to open several winter seasonal flights, Sarasota/Bradenton to revert to mainline service

Air Canada (Montreal) will revert to mainline service on the Toronto (Pearson)-Sarasota/Bradenton route on November 1 from rouge service. The route will initially operate twice weekly with Airbus A319s/A320s until December 13 when it becomes daily for the winter season per Airline Route.

Additionally Air Canada is starting weekly seasonal Ottawa-Samana, Dominican Republic  flights with Embraer 190s on December 22.

Air Canada will also start weekly seasonal Embraer 190 service from Montreal (Trudeau) to San Salvador in the Bahamas on November 1.

Air Canada rouge starts service to Sarasota/Bradenton

Air Canada rouge (Toronto-Pearson) yesterday (November 30) started Saturday and Sunday flights from Toronto (Pearson) to Sarasota/Bradenton, Florida. This will increase to daily flights from December 17 through to April 27, 2014.

Air Canada rouge offers convenient flight times as follows:

Saturday November 30 and December 7:

  • Depart Toronto 12:55 p.m. (1255) arrive Sarasota/Bradenton 3:50 p.m. (1550)
  • Depart Sarasota/Bradenton 4:45 p.m. (1645) arrive Toronto 7:40 p.m. (1940)

Sunday December 1 , 8 and 15 and Saturday December 14 :

  • Depart Toronto 2:10 p.m. (1410) arrive Sarasota/Bradenton 5:15 p.m. (1715)
  • Depart Sarasota/Bradenton 6:00 p.m. (1800) arrive Toronto 8:56 p.m. (2056)

Daily flights as of December 17 to April 27 :

  • Depart Toronto 2:10 p.m. (1410) arrive Sarasota/Bradenton 5:15 p.m. (1715)
  • Depart Sarasota/Bradenton 6:00 p.m. (1800) arrive Toronto 8:56 p.m. (2056)
