Czech Airlines-CSA (Prague) starting today (December 1) has wet leased its Boeing 737-436 OK-WGY (msn 25839) to DanubeWings (DanubeWings.com) (Bratislava). DanubeWings today launched jet service with OK-WGY from Poprad-Tatry to London (Luton), Dublin and Manchester.

US Airways’ (Phoenix) Boeing 737-4B7 N443US (msn 24842) yesterday afternoon (June 27) made a hard landing at Tampa after flying in from Philadelphia. ย The nose gear collapsed on landing. Television pitchman Billy Mays who was on flight, was found dead this morning in his Tampa home after reportedly hitting his head in the incident.

Tailwind Airlines (Istanbul) received its AOC on May 12, 2009 and commenced scheduled and charter services with three ex-Alaska Airlines Boeing 737-4Q8s (TC-TLA, TC-TLB and TC-TLC). The new airline is serving Ankara, Antalya, Bodrum, Istanbul and Izmir in Turkey and also Tehran and Tel Aviv. In July it will be flying an expanded schedule to Europe including Amsterdam, Bilbao and Madrid.
