Vietnam Airlines to lease 12 Airbus A321neo airliners from ALC

Air Lease Corporation (ALC) has announced the placement of twelve new Airbus A321neo aircraft on long term lease to Vietnam Airlines. Six of the aircraft will deliver in 2018 and six of the aircraft will deliver in 2019, all from ALC’s order book with Airbus.

Last year ALC announced long term lease contracts with Vietnam Airlines for eight new Boeing 787-10s, which are scheduled to begin delivering in 2019 and continue through 2021.

ALC to lease six Boeing 737 MAX 8s to LOT Polish Airlines

Air Lease Corporation has announced the placement of six new Boeing 737 MAX 8s with CFM Leap-1B engines on long-term lease to LOT Polish Airlines. In addition to the six firm lease placements, the agreement includes the option to lease five new 737 MAX 8s, to be confirmed by early 2017. All eleven aircraft are from ALC’s order book with Boeing.

Delivery of the first two firmly-contracted aircraft will begin in the fourth quarter of 2017, the next two in 2018, one in 2019, and the sixth aircraft will deliver in or before the first quarter of 2020. The optioned aircraft are expected to deliver in 2019 and 2020.

The new 737 MAX 8 aircraft will be used by LOT to increase frequencies and add new destinations on LOT’s extensive European and Eurasian route network.

LOT has one of the youngest fleets in Europe and was the first European airline to introduce into service the Boeing 787 Dreamliner. LOT estimates that in 2020 it will operate a total of approximately 70 aircraft, including 16 Dreamliners and approximately 15 new single-aisle planes with 150-plus seating capacity.

EVA Air to lease four Boeing 787-9s and two 787-10s from ALC

Air Lease Corporation (ALC) (Los Angeles) has announced long term lease agreements with EVA Air (Taipei) for four new Boeing 787-9s and two new Boeing 787-10s. These aircraft are from ALC’s Dreamliner order book with Boeing and will deliver from mid-2018 through early 2020. These placements will bring the number of new Boeing widebody aircraft that EVA Air will lease from ALC to ten, including four Boeing 777-300 ERs already contracted.

ALC announces the lease placement of two new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners with El Al

Air Lease Corporation (ALC) (Los Angeles) has announced an agreement to lease two new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft to El Al Israel Airlines (Tel Aviv). Both aircraft are on long-term lease from ALC’s order book with Boeing and are scheduled to be delivered to Israel’s flag carrier airline in the third quarter and early fourth quarter of 2017. These new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft will replace older Boeing 747-400s in El Al’s fleet and will be the first two 787s for the airline.

Air Lease Corporation to lease two Boeing 737-800s to Siam Air

Siam Air (Siam Air Transport) (Bangkok-Don Mueang Airport) is becoming a new Boeing 737-800 operator.

Air Lease Corporation (ALC) (Los Angeles) announced lease agreements with Siam Air Transport (Thailand) for two used Boeing 737-800 aircraft. These aircraft will be delivered in the fourth quarter of 2015.

Siam Air was founded in 2013 and commenced low-fare operations in October 2014.

Oman Air to lease 14 aircraft from ALC including a new Boeing 787-9

Oman Air (Muscat) and Air Lease Corporation (Los Angeles) have announced long term lease agreements for 14 jet aircraft. The lease agreements cover three new Boeing 737-800s, seven new Boeing 737 MAX 8s, and one new Boeing 787-9, all from ALC’s order book with Boeing. This transaction also includes one used Boeing 737-700 (msn 33103) and two used Boeing 737-800 aircraft (msns 33104 and 34242). The deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2015 and continue through to 2019.

Oman Air’s Chief Financial Officer, Japeen Shah, said, “We are very pleased to sign these agreements with Air Lease Corporation. They enable Oman Air to continue its ambitious fleet and network expansion program, and deliver even greater choice and convenience for our customers. Our expansion plan will see Oman Air’s fleet expand to 57 aircraft by 2018, and to 70 aircraft by 2020. This agreement represents a significant step towards achieving our strategic aims. Oman Air’s increased fleet size is enabling it to offer even more exciting destinations within its global network. Over recent months, new services have been launched to Manila, Jakarta, Goa and Singapore. Further new services will be announced closer to the time of their launch, and are expected to include, amongst others, destinations in Bangladesh and China.

Air Lease Corporation orders one additional Airbus A350-900 and four A320 Family aircraft

Air Lease Corporation (ALC) (Los Angeles) today at the 51st International Paris Air Show announced a firm order for additional Airbus widebody and single-aisle aircraft (1 A350-900, 1 A321ceo and 3 A320ceo).

Including today’s announcement, ALC’s fast growing portfolio of Airbus aircraft stands at a total of 262, of which 66 are widebodies (15 A330ceo, 25 A330neo, 21 A350-900, 5 A350-1000) and 196 are single-aisles (30 A320ceo, 31 A320neo, 26 A321ceo, 109 A321neo).

Vietnam Airlines converts eight Boeing 787-9 orders to the larger 787-10

Air Lease Corporation (ALC) (Los Angeles) today (June 15) announced new long term lease contracts with Vietnam Airlines (Hanoi) that converted the formerly contracted eight Boeing 787-9 aircraft to eight new Boeing 787-10s.

These aircraft are from ALC’s order book with Boeing and deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2019 and continue through 2021. The Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner will be the largest aircraft in Vietnam Airlines’ fleet.

Hainan Airlines to lease two Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners from ALC

Air Lease Corporation-ALC (Los Angeles) announced long term lease agreements with Hainan Airlines (Haikou and Beijing) for two new Boeing 787-9 aircraft, both from ALC’s order book with Boeing. ALC has ordered 46 new Boeing 787-9 and 787-10 aircraft in total for deliveries beginning in spring 2016.

“We are pleased to announce that the first of these two new Boeing 787-9s leased to Hainan Airlines will be ALC’s very first Boeing 787-9 delivery. As the longest-range wide-body aircraft in Hainan’s fleet, these 787-9s will offer additional range and capacity capabilities beyond the airline’s Boeing 787-8 aircraft already in operation. This placement marks our third and fourth aircraft placed on long term lease with Hainan, following two 737-800s in 2010. We look forward to the continued growth of our relationship with this world-class airline,” said Jie Chen, ALC’s Executive Vice President and Managing Director, Asia.

AeroMexico to lease one Boeing 787-9 from ALC

Air Lease Corporation (Los Angeles) has announced a long term lease agreement with AeroMexico (Mexico City) for one new Boeing 787-9 aircraft. This aircraft is from ALC’s order book with Boeing and is scheduled for delivery in fall 2016.
