JetBlue Airways today announced it has officially launched service between New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and Philip S. W. Goldson International Airport (BZE) in Belize City, Belize, with the first flight arriving in Belize this afternoon.
JetBlue’s new Belize City service will operate Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays.
Alaska Airlines began nonstop service today to Belize City from Seattle/Tacoma and Los Angeles.

The Great Blue Hole, Belize
Belize will be the fourth country Alaska flies to from its West Coast hubs, joining Canada, Mexico and Costa Rica.
Copa Airlines {Panama City} subsidiary of Copa Holdings, S.A., and member of the Star Alliance global airline network, announced it will begin operating two weekly flights between Belize City and Panama City, Panama, starting on December 8, 2015. With the addition of Belize, Copa Airlines’ route network will total 75 cities in 31 countries in North, Central and South America and the Caribbean, including every Central American country.
The twice-weekly Copa flight CM 281 will depart Belize City on Tuesdays and Fridays, at 2:17 p.m., arriving at the Hub of the Americas at Tocumen International Airport in Panama City at 5:34 p.m. Flight CM 280 will depart Panama Tuesdays and Fridays at 11:29 a.m., arriving in Belize at 12:52 p.m. All times are local; flight duration is approximately 2 hours, 20 minutes.
Copa Airlines will operate the nonstop flight to Belize using Embraer 190 aircraft, with seating for 94 passengers — 10 in business class and 84 in the main cabin.

American Airlines (Dallas/Fort Worth) will add six new routes throughout Mexico, the Caribbean and Latin America, further strengthening its position in these key markets. New service to Barranquilla, Colombia (BAQ), will add a new destination to the airline’s global network and customers will have increased options when traveling throughout the region. Expanded service includes new flights to Belize City, Belize (BZE); Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands (GCM); Guadalajara, Mexico (GDL); Managua, Nicaragua (MGA); and Monterrey, Mexico (MTY).

American is taking delivery of more than 100 new aircraft this year, giving it the youngest fleet of any U.S.-based network carrier. Orders include the Airbus A320 and A320neo family, A350-900s, Boeing 737 MAX, 777-300ERs and 787s, which will make American’s fleet even younger, more modern and fuel efficient.
