American announces six new routes to Mexico, the Caribbean and Latin America

American Airlines (Dallas/Fort Worth) will add six new routes throughout Mexico, the Caribbean and Latin America, further strengthening its position in these key markets. New service to Barranquilla, Colombia (BAQ), will add a new destination to the airline’s global network and customers will have increased options when traveling throughout the region. Expanded service includes new flights to Belize City, Belize (BZE); Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands (GCM); Guadalajara, Mexico (GDL); Managua, Nicaragua (MGA); and Monterrey, Mexico (MTY).

American is taking delivery of more than 100 new aircraft this year, giving it the youngest fleet of any U.S.-based network carrier. Orders include the Airbus A320 and A320neo family, A350-900s, Boeing 737 MAX, 777-300ERs and 787s, which will make American’s fleet even younger, more modern and fuel efficient.

Delta to start seasonal service between Los Angeles and Managua

Delta Air Lines (Atlanta) will begin Saturday seasonal service between Los Angeles and Managua on June 5, 2015. The additional service will complement the current daily nonstop service from the Nicaraguan capital city to Atlanta, and will operate using a 160-seat Boeing 737-800 aircraft.

With flights to 13 cities including San José, Costa Rica; Liberia, Costa Rica; San Salvador; Guatemala City; Belize City; Cancún; Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo; Manzanillo; Guadalajara; Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan, Monterrey; and now Managua, Delta serves more destinations in Latin America from Los Angeles than any carrier.

From Los Angeles, Delta currently operates 154 peak-day departures to 48 destinations and has continued expanding both international and domestic service over the past few months, including London-Heathrow in October; Dallas* and Austin, Texas* in November; and Vancouver, Canada* in December.

AeroMexico announces a new route to Managua, Nicaragua

AeroMexico (Mexico City) has announced the beginning of its new service with six weekly flights between its Mexico City hub and Managua.

This is the sixth destination in Central America and its 16th in Latin America.

The new AeroMexico Connect route will be served with six weekly flights with 76-seat Embraer 170 aircraft.

AeroMexico to add Managua, Nicaragua on December 10

AeroMexico (Mexico City) has announced it will connect Mexico City to Managua, Nicaragua, six times a week starting on December 10.

Managua will be AeroMexico’s 5th Central American destination and the 14th Latin American route served by the airline.

The six flights a week will be operated by an AeroMexico Connect (Aerolitoral) Embraer 170 aircraft, seating 76 passengers.
