Air Canada inaugurates nonstop flights to Cartagena; newest destination in ongoing strategic international expansion

Air Canada’s inaugural flight, AC1872 fromย Torontoย to Cartagena departed on the morning of December 18, 2017, marking the airline’s newest destination in its ongoing international expansion.

In 2017, Air Canada launched new international flights from

  • Torontoย to:ย Mumbaiย (India),ย Berlinย (Germany),ย Reykjavikย (Iceland), St. Vincent (Caribbean),ย Belizeย City (Belize), Cartagena (Colombia)
  • Montrealย to:ย Shanghaiย (China),ย Marseilleย (France),ย Reykjavikย (Iceland),ย Tel-Avivย (Israel),ย Algiersย (Algeria) andย Limaย (Peru)
  • Vancouverย to:ย Melbourneย (Australia),ย Taipeiย (Taiwan),ย Nagoyaย (Japan),ย Frankfurtย (Germany), London Gatwick (UK)

In 2018, Air Canada will launch new international services from

  • Torontoย to:ย Shannon (Ireland),ย Portoย (Portugal),ย Zagrebย (Croatia),ย Bucharestย (Romania),ย Buenos Airesย (Argentina)

Delta to add two new routes to Colombia

Delta Air Lines (Atlanta) is adding two new Colombian routes from its Atlanta hub. Starting on December 19, per Airline Route, the carrier will launch a new route from Atlanta to Cartagena (three days a week with Boeing 737-800s) and Atlanta to Medellin (daily flights with Boeing 737-700s).

In addition, the airline is also commencing Boeing 717 service from Los Angeles to Sacramento on June 4.

JetBlue Airways today adds four new routes from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport

JetBlue Airways (New York) today (October 29) expands its destination offerings at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) with the addition of four new routes. The new flights include daily service to Cartagena, Colombia; Las Vegas, Nevada; and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; as well as a twice daily service to Jacksonville, Florida.

By 2017, JetBlue plans to offer 100 daily flights out of Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood to meet increasing customer demand. In May of this year, JetBlue added flights from FLL to Montego Bay, Jamaica; Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago; and Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.

JetBlue currently offers up to 75 daily flights to 33 destinations from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood.

JetBlue announces two more routes from Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood

JetBlue Airways (New York) has announced two new nonstop routes from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport to Cartagena, Colombia (CTG) and Las Vegas, Nevada (LAS). Both flights will begin on October 29, 2014, the same day the airline will also launch its new nonstop service to Pittsburgh.

These three upcoming routes are in addition to the six international routes already launched within the last year from JetBlue’s South Florida focus city. New international destinations include San Jose, Costa Rica; Lima, Peru; Port-au-Prince, Haiti; Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago; Montego Bay, Jamaica; and Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.

Avianca to start nonstop Cartagena-New York service on July 17

Avianca (Colombia) (Bogota) will launch a new route from Cartagena nonstop to New York (JFK) on July 17. The new route will be operated three days a week with Airbus A319s per Airline Route.
